omg I remember like 1 month ago making a huge game document idea of a possible Sonic R inspired racing game since Roblox really lacks many popular and fun racing games, I made the document even if I never really knew anything about coding, modeling and roblox studio as a whole (I only draw digitally lol) but I'm honestly super glad to see something like this, I wish the team the best of luck, I wish I could shed some light to some ideas I've had from my original game document I made if you wouldn't mind btw but honestly the progress from this trailer is amazing, good luck to the team, once again!

All of the textures look heckin glossy but aside from that I'm happy to see some people tackling Sonic R and breathing new blood into it.

The blurry textures are a result of Roblox's automatic texture upscaling, but I was pleasantly surprised with how the maps look!

Awesome! The original Sonic R on PC was my very first Sonic game and I’m psyched to see it getting a remaster, unofficial or otherwise. Will it get Saturn style effects & lighting, PC weather & time of day settings and new tracks? The original game is too short and I’d love to see more of it.

Cool to see a remake in the works! I personally feel like the more simplistic lighting in the original did the low-poly models more justice, so I hope that this remake has a few options for graphical style. This is definitely exciting!

The easiest way to replicate simplistic lighting is to set your graphics quality to 1 in game settings!

By the way it's possible to remove/tweak the plastic specular reflection using the new MaterialService, that would probably make for much more accurate textures

@@Rascally_Rosy basically you can make a material variant of smoothplastic and use completely white/grey/black textures for the different PBR maps, which can include the roughness maps to make a surface perfectly rough and therefore more matte, and also you can use this trick in all sorts of other ways, hope this helps :3
