In all seriousness, i want to start making these remixes and i have little to no clue what im doing, so what kind of filter did you apply to get that grainy retro vhs type sound?

Well firstly I took the song into a program called SunVox which is a free music creating program that has a bevy of options to tinker around with. So I played with the effects within the program adding simple things like reverb, echo, distortion etc. Among other effects and adjusted them to my liking and then after finishing up with that I took the song into Audacity, added a filter which was akin to a radio and that was pretty much it. Hope that helps a bit and good luck!
