After all these time... I remember the time when I bought this game. It was 2006, Me and my older brother went straght to gaming shop which was only one in my neighborhood ( it was quite typical in Kazakhstan and all former USSR countries. We didnt have any license shops until 2011-2012. There were only a Pirate shops at that time). My brother promised me that he will buy one game that I would choose. At that time Sonic X broadcast on TV so I was kinda sick of it. In that shop were only two games about Sonic. And one of them was Sonic Riders... And I dont regret that i picked it. Wow, I played it really and really a lot, so I'm got pro in it.

That's because game engines is not the same as actual cgi. And even though they could use cgi for every cut scene, it will cost way too much money to do that and a lot of rendering time.

For the most part I remember watching my brothers play the game while being on the sidelines, and even without playing I found it so amazing. I’d occasionally play multiplayer and it was just so much fun. It was this along with other PS2 games like Midnight Club and Dragon Ball Z that made up a really nice time in my childhood. What’s better is that I share that nostalgia with my brothers.

All we got now is, 'Sonic Riders Tournament Edition' for the Gamecube emulator. This mod is being updated right now & has changed some of the core game play but most of all is that now you can play online. I believe that they are updating the graphics to 4K & giving some gear a new splash. With a little digging you can find the discord & the mod, I don't have them on hand & have yet to join the community itself.

tbh i would agree but i feel the controls in zero gravity are alot better then in this one, plus the whole air concept is annoying, it might just be since i was exposed to zero gravity before the original that i like zero gravity better but mainly the controls are just alot smoother in that one in comparison, but either way i still enjoy both games equally even if the babylon story in this one makes me rage super hard at times

The level design and music are the only things it has over the original (mind you it has the best level design for it's gimmick of any game I have seen.) But I will argue to the grave that it's controls are unnatural, especially to someone who played the original first for thousands of hours.

What I never understood, though. Is why Sonic NEEDED to use the boards. In the beginning scene. He should have been able to easily keep up with just his feet. Sonic, just running, in theory, should be faster than everyone else. Every character should've been given a special to use. Sonics special would have been running at super speed

This might be a bit late, as people have probably answered after nearly 7 years, here's two things you'd probably want to know while playing Sonic Riders. Grinding - This requires you to jump, then press the jump button again to land on the rail. I'm surprised on how hard this specifically is to find out about. Jumps - Hold back or forward on the control stick to add either a high or low jump. For example, you know that one part in Metal City that you've always likely wanted to get to as a kid? You can consistently, by I believe holding back? It might be forward, even I'm relatively new to this, but its something the game definitely didn't teach.
