I’m thinking shadow won’t remember mephiles but mephiles will remember him because if mephiles is brought back so would his memories you assume. Then it could be like their first encounter in 06 where mephiles knows who shadow is but shadow doesn’t know who mephiles is. And it’ll give mephiles double the motivation because now shadows defeated him twice

He, Sonic, and Silver are the only characters that remember the events of '06. Pretty sure Izuka said so in an interview several years back, he also confirmed that Blaze doesn't. Tho, he also admitted he didn't really know why she was there to begin with which means someone else made the decision to put her in lol.

At this point the only other thing I could be asking for is Super Shadow. Technically not possible story-wise since Sonic has the Emeralds (unless there's just multiple sets of Chaos Emeralds from different time periods but I don't think that's possible) but I really would love to have Super Shadow return, especially if he can mix his Super Form with the Doom Powers, I think that would be absolutely insane!

Nah Mephiles will 100% remember Shadow, whereas Shadow will at the most vaguely remember him. This can lead to a lot of fun interactions between the two, Mephiles trying to get in Shadow's head as usual and Shadow negating his efforts.

I think Shadow will remember Mephiles. in the original sonic generations, if you talk to Blaze in the hub world, she remarks about how she’s surprised to see crisis city again. This sort of confirms that certain characters, at least remember the events of that game.

I'd only accept if Shadow emotionally remembers the events of 06. It's hinted the ending of the game shows that Sonic emotionally remembers the events as he went to visit the festival. If anything, Mephiles should remember exactly who shadow is and shadow should only emotionally remember him which would make his character work. (Now if only one of Shadow's traits wasn't exaggerated anymore then it'd be perfect)

I’m so glad that they’re acknowledging all the games. Even the ones they’d rather not. I miss when sonic and the entire gang were there and there were different play styles. I miss lovecraftian horror as a bonus for completing all the campaigns. I hope they go back to at least some of the things that made those games great.

Stage 4 of Sonic: Adventure 2's Dark Story obvsly. On another note, from what I've seen in Shadow episode 1 and the gameplay footage, it seems we're going to be taking a journey through Shadow's memories and, being the product of countless alterations, episodes of amnesia, etc, they are going to be out of control and confusing. Perhaps we're trying to piece them together. Shadow's past is a mystery to him as well after all, so both the player and Shadow will uncover his backstory.

I think he is gonna just keep these powers and use them in IDW, especially since the fact Shadow and the rest of Team Dark does not show up for the entire clean sweep arc, despite the fact Team Dark would realistically be on Clutch's ass as soon as he tries to do his plan, so it would probably make the most sense if this Shadow was Future Shadow/IDW Shadow pulled back in time by the time eater(this has a been a recent popular theory)

I mean, Shadow probably doesn't remember Mephiles, but they could make they remember, like, let's say seeing Mephiles or something especific relating to the 06, makes they remember everything. People are saying that with Spider-Man, so that him revealing his identity to someone makes they remember who Peter Parker is, so they could do something similar here, it's a fun idea, there's some people that say Sonic remembers anyway, and I guess that with Ian Flynn believing in that theory that says Mephiles is related is some way or is some form of a Time Eater, they could make sense out of this

Personally, I wish they could just retconned some things from Sonic 06 and maybe take Sonic Rivals out of that equation, too. About that whole Sonic and Silver meeting. Like I have a pitching idea is retcon Sonic 06, and make it into like a Multiverse idea, where Sonic, Shadow and friends are in the same world, while there's a 2nd world where Silver and Blaze reside in and there will be a brief moment that Blaze does recognize Sonic, cause if I'm not mistaken in Sonic Rush isn't Blaze from like another universe? I would also implement characters in Silver and Blaze world, like Cosmos from the Sonic X anime, like make her fit in with the Sonic games for once, Sally Acorn is another one too, the fact that she's never appeared in any Sonic games is wild. And there's a few more characters too that I would put in Silver and Blaze world. Like Eggman Naga and possibly Mephelis himself. I would also bring levels back from 06 like Crisis City and Kingdom Valley so they can stay intact with the retcon timeline because they're in Generations.

Sonic, as per OG Sonic Generations definitely remembers the events of 06. In fact, the Rivals Series has a more contentious standing in canon than Sonic 06 does. It's confirmed that all three hedgehogs, specifically, remember 06 because they fought Solaris outside of the time stream, everyone else forgot. Silver himself exists outside of the now-established timeline. We also never see the events of the Rivals Series get revisited in any way in subsequent games, even though 06, the storybook games, and the Rush series all get rehashed or mentioned here and there, including in OG Sonic Generations. The retcon we see is that the Shadow we'll be playing as is going to be from the time of Sonic Frontiers, while the Sonics we'll be playing as will be the Past Sonic and Classic Sonic from Generations.

I mean the main driving factor of everything in Generations and assumedly Shadow Gens also is Time Eater screwing up time and dumping it all in a white void Like you said the events of 06 were erased at the end, that timeline should no longer exist but Time Eater was still able to pull Crisis City into the white void; and if Shadow Gens is actually running alongside Sonic Gens, it also has pulled Sunset Heights and Chaos Island from future events into the void. Though if Doom could survive his defeat always the possibility Time Eater survived Gens and Shadow's campaign is set after Sonic's in the future at some point. No way to realy know until the Dark Beginnings Episodes finish and game is out Not beyond reason that the powers of Time Eater would restore everyone's memories of that erased timeline while within the void And ofc the trailer shows Maria and Gerald appearing in the white space so more timey wimey shenanigans Present Shadow vs SA2 "I promise you revenge" Shadow would be cool to see

My little theory about interaction with mephiles is that they actually can remember eachother, the final story in sonic 06 shows us that mephiles connected all of the time and space in some kind of void and he lives in all that time at once so it's kind of similar to what is happening in sonic generations and the white space, so even if the time line is altered at the end of the game maybe the white space somehow brought back that alternated timeline as well as shadows memories of it, or maybe just the timeline and shadow still won't recognise him but mephiles will know who shadow is? I don't know but I am sure that sega will at least make it look right after the events of sonic 06 and I can't wait to see and play this part of the game
