I just have one thought about the movesets, surprised the dev didn't put Painwheel's propeller attacks on Tails, it just fits like a glove. Otherwise, sick as hell.

All of SSD’s moves are reused assets from other games Like the VS Series, SF Series, etc The only exceptions are ASW games and Skullgirls There’s no way to rip anims from Skullgirls

Mecha Sonic did appear in Sonic 2 Genesis. But with a much different design. The design used in this fangame is based on his Sonic 3&K iteration. He does have a recolor similar to his Sonic 2 appearance though.

Actually, in the Japan release, genesis Silver Sonic was referred to as "Meka Sonic". As for NA, he wasn't really referred to as anything. The name "Silver Sonic" was only ever used for the gamegear version of Sonic 2. Additionally the name "Robo Sonic" was later used in the Lego Dimensions Sonic Level as a way to distinguish it from the S3K model, who also appeared there. Think of it as this. The first Mecha Sonic was the GameGear version, sometimes referred to as a prototype. Then there was the Genesis Sonic 2 version. Then finally the S3K version. One could also count the "Mecha Godzilla" one from Adventure as the 4th iteration, though it only really exists there as a prop.

Like I said in another comment, Mecha Sonic's first appearance is in Sonic 2, 8-bit and 16-bit editions, with two different models, known as "Silver Sonic". The Sonic & Knuckles' "Blue" model is his third version

Nope, I wrote the characters' first appearances and Mecha first appearance is on Sonic 2 (8-bit) with his "silver" version, then comes the Sonic 2 (16-bit) redefined version, also silver. The Sonic & Knuckles (and Smackdown) model is his first redesign, but it's his third version
