Here’s what I think happens before your first multi-verse wars episode, Mario goes on Vacay and Mario Comes back sounding different than usual and Insulting luigi, explaining why he wanted to be number one in the luigi vs tails episode and After the first episode metal Mario realize that sonic was too strong so he wanted to possesses he’s ally with cappy. That’s what I think happened anyway.

Mario had apparently been replaced by an evil clone this entire time while he was on vacation. Luigi found his confidence. Donkey Kong, Toad, Bowser and Cappy are dead. Peach was dead but somehow she’s back. Shadow, after his ordeal has decided to emulate Wario…because reasons. Sonic and Tails are apparently ok with a guy who looks a lot like the guy who possessed the former’s rival and tried to kill them being around. And Tails never forgave Luigi for going back on his promise. 🤷‍♂️
