Got 14 bits of gear from Japan plus 2 vintage turntables. Most of it I bought when I lived in Taiwan. The gear I bought while in the UK from Japan (in 2021), I had sent surface. As in Taiwan, when I received surface, I luckily did not need to pay duty. I run the 100v on a transformer. But like Jamie said, there are more options now for gear, than needing to go for vintage. I have noticed many of the Japanese sellers that sell to foreigners have bumped up the prices too. Fewer bargains, it seems.

Automate ATTK after DELAY, that is if the actual delay plugin your using doesnt have an attack for the throws.

My best find was a Yamaha AN1x at a thrift shop for $8. It has a dead screen, but functioned 100%. Ended up gifting it to a co-worker for free...

I bought three new synths/module back in the 80s/90s on clearance at different times, but always for $500, a fraction of their list prices. They were: Fender Chroma Polaris, Oberheim Matrix 6R module, and a Korg Wavestation. I think I sold each of them for basically what I originally paid for them. No doubt they’d have increased in value since then. Easy come, easy go.
