Honestly the only ones that look similar in my opinion are the hedgehogs, which makes sense because they’re the same species. They still look very different to the point where you’ll never get them mixed up as well. I think they struck a good balance with designing characters of the same species.

Fang has appeared in Triple Trouble (Game Gear), Sonic The Fighters (Arcade), Sonic Generations on a wanted poster, Sonic Mania as one of the characters Heavy magician transforms into and Sonic Superstars. Bean and Bark have been in the same games as Fang apart from Triple Trouble and Superstars. Although they haven’t appeared a lot in the games, the currently running IDW comics (That seem to be canon thanks to Sonic Frontiers) had a classic comic on it’s 30th anniversary and a lot of Classic characters finally got fleshed out. Fang was getting down to business and was playing dirty to get a chaos emerald, Bark was shy and didn’t talk, and Bean was crazy throwing explosives everywhere and even breaking the 4th wall at one point.
