To be honest, besides how buggy this game is and the dreaded interspecies kissing scene, this game was actually really fun. I loved messing around with friends in multiplayer and the game had a huge amount of content compared to most Sonic games within the past decade. I’m sure the game would’ve been perfect if the fans didn’t encourage Sega to rush it.

The real sad thing is that there really wouldn't have been any ideal scenario for this game at the time of its release. - Xbox demanded a Holiday 2006 deadline with the threat of cutting SEGA off if they failed to meet it. - PS3's massive bomb at launch hindered any chance of it being successful, even if it had been finished. - Had it been a Wii exclusive, it would've likely just been Secret Rings I honestly believe Sonic 06 would've only had a chance on a new SEGA console.

At the end of the day, Sonic Team/SEGA did this to themselves. They had people leave midway through due to meddling and then split the already thin team in half to work on Secret Rings. Just delaying or canceling Secret Rings alone would have done wonders that we would never see.

Seeing this compilation earlier this year had ultimately fueled me to produce a Japanese TV Spot concept for how Several Wills (2006/2007 Game) would be presented, had it come out with its intended vision and attaining heavy support from Sega of Japan's Marketing Division: The end result is something that would combine Four different sides and regions of the Music and Audiovisual scene (Rick Astley, Aya Ueto, Cait Fairbanks, and Roya Rockwood); most of the editing influence for this came from the handling for Riders' spot in the region, as well as Shadow the Hedgehog (2005)'s incorporation of J~Pop MVs in its promos, and barring the lack of the URL for Sega of Japan's website at the end this is pretty close to what a promotion would look like from the company during Fiscal Year 2006; visual effects and transitions alongside the fonts used are all close enough to what Sega of Japan worked with at the time, so it is as faithful as I could get within a 072 Hour editing window, I do feel that this style of Post~Production for Sonic commercials is still relevant and wishfully the amalgamation of Music Videos with Game Footage becomes common practice for the franchise in future titles when considering how well it managed to work for Stillness & Motion (Frontiers) during its campaign. ~ [Royameadow] Sonic Adventure IV: Several Wills: Japanese TV Spot Concept: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eabadohqbJ5pjJI

This is half true. While actual progress was being made on the 360 version, the PS3 proved far more difficult to develop for, and was heavily slowing down development. Microsoft's Holiday 2006 deadline approached and the game wasn't ready, so the best they could do was release the last stable build. Boy did that sure backfire on them.
