Since I first saw the mid-credits scene, I was thinking of Sonic CD but sorta the reverse where Amy (perhaps a time traveler from the future) is saving Sonic from Metal. Didn't think of Heroes. Could be a mix of the two. The three movies have been criticized for being predictable. I honestly don't mind cos this series is one of my childhood dreams come true. And now we get this enigmatic teaser for Sonic 4. So Paramount is still listening to their audience and fans.

Thank you for the technicality! Yes Gerald created Shadow in the original SA2. Then in Shadow 05 they bring in the Black Comet and use Black Doom to use his powers to help create Shadow. Regardless, the Black Comet helped create Shadow, and that was the point I was trying to get across in the reaction. Keep in mind I am also trying to help explain things to Corey who doesn't know much about Shadow's lore while not trying to talk over the movie for too long. I said the transition was still funny. But for the hardcore Sonic fans that are nerding out to their childhood of Live And Learn Vocals and Super Sonic and Super Shadow teaming up being shown on screen. To then transition to Jim Carey giving his other self a spanking was definitely a vibe killer. I had other friends tell me the same thing that the transition killed the vibe for them. I'm glad they showed how incredibly wholesome Shadow and Maria's connection has been in the Sonic franchise. This movie changed Shadow's backstory a little since kids would also watch this. His backstory in the Sonic Universe is more tragic, especially with Maria's disability and how she actually died. I really appreciate how they handled the Maria scene. They obviously couldn't show a child getting shot in a PG movie, so they switched it to the gun being pushed to the side and hitting the tanks, but they all made it VERY clear that soldier WAS going to shoot her along with Shadow and Gerald. Overall I'm VERY happy with how well they adapted the lore for a more 'realisitc' Sonic movie.

It turns out that's literally in the concept arts of the movie, it seems like Gerald was going to win as they show the Eclipse Canon actually firing and hitting the Earth, and then we would have seen Eggman as some kind of king or emperor in a ruined city, along with Metal Sonic. I guess they probably decided to move that time travel act to the fourth movie instead, and maybe we'll see that bad future as Amy's backstory.

I hope for a spinoff show about Shadow and Maria from 50 years ago, like the flashbacks. It could literally be just them doing random shit the entire time and it would be a 10/10. But it could also go more indept about Shadow's life in the lab. As for a movie, if they don't bring in Black Doom at some point, I'd be so dissappointed. Especially because the meteor Shadow came to earth in basically screams Black Doom. Would be perfect for a Shadow movie, just like the game.

🚨 *_(WARNING!! TEENAGE FAN GIRL INFO DUMPING BEYOND THIS POINT!! WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS!!)_* 🚨 _{You must have a large attention span + love for reading if you are gonna read the info dump below}_ As a 17 year old who grew up with Sonic comics, shows, and games, I have to say that Sonic 3 really exceeded my expectations (and I already knew it was gonna be amazing)! When I saw Sonic 1 at 12-13, I was happy to see Sonic finally live action, then when I saw Sonic 2 at 14, I was happy to see my boys Knuckles and Tails, as well as the Master Emerald, Super Sonic, and Chaos Emeralds into the mix. But Sonic 3...When I saw Sonic 3 at my current age, 17....I was _mind blown._ SO mind blown that I watched it once on December 19th (Fan Event--got 2 prizes for it too, a Shadow Poster and Keychain), a second time on December 20th (on Opening Day), for the _third time_ (December 23rd), and watched Sonic 3 a fourth time (December 28th), since there's gonna be a new poster theaters are gonna hand out on that day. I was already going to watch this _peak_ movie again, so I don't mind! Anyways, yeah. Loved all the SA2 references + Unleashed reference they made with this film (the SA2 E.G.G.M.A.N. theme being Robotnik's ringtone, Live & Learn {I was singing along to the little lyrics they put!} the Eclipse Cannon, the ARK, Eggman Land as a theme park in the Gerald and Robotnik scenes, Shadow being a rosy tint in his Super form like in the games, etc.). They handled Shadow and Maria's relationship so well, and when I saw _Amy_ and _Metal_ in the post credits scene....I was so happy, my god. Literally yelled their names SO MANY times. I was screaming Amy's name the moment I saw the pink flash. Then when I saw her Piko-Piko Hammer, I yelled her name even LOUDER (her wearing a cloak reminds me of Rob'O Hedge; her cousin from the Archie comics). I KNEW they were gonna come; had that theory since 2 months ago! And ever since I saw Maddie wearing a pink sweater in her first poster for Sonic 3 a month or two ago, I automatically applied the Maddie Sweater theory to it, and deduced Amy was gonna come. I had no idea as to why Metal would come, but thought it would make sense, since Amy and him debuted in the same game, Sonic CD. I was wrong about Rouge or Cream coming though. Anyways---The CGI and animation were amazing; especially at the Super Sonic and Super Shadow fight scenes. No wonder _Sonic 3 is the #1 movie in both _*_America and Ireland!_* Hollywood Handle nominated Sonic 3 as the best live action adaptation of this year, with a few other movies _under_ it. I'm new to the channel, so apologies for not knowing your names, but: Has the person in the middle seen the Shadow Generations: Dark Beginnings animations yet? Based on some of the commentary here it seems like maybe not, and if so you should ABSOLUTELY check that out and ideally react to it on the channel: Some of the ideas for Shadow and Maria's interaction in the movie seems to have been planned alongside those animations, and they're unironically some of the best animated and directed bits of visual media i've ever seen, even compared to the Sonic Mania Adventure shorts and the like, it blows all of those out of the water. I never dreamed we'd get something that good out of the series again after SA2.

Yes, I have seen the Shadow Generations Animated Shorts. They were beautiful and awesome. Shadow and Maria's interaction in those animations and even the cutscenes of the Shadow Generations game were more than what we got in any game Shadow was in prior. My discussion on this topic in this reaction was mainly talking about the actual fun and play activities that Shadow and Maria had in this movie that we never got in any game or animated short. I can see your point about how this movie was planned alongside the scenes in the animated shorts, but to be fair for me I said that this type of Shadow and Maria fun and friend building interaction was something we never got in the games specifically. The animated shorts just gave us more emotional reassurance of Shadow and Maria. The dancing, roller skating, movie watching, and the totality of the interactions this movie gave us was a true treat for all Shadow and Maria fans. Thank you for this comment. If we ever see Silver The Hedgehog in the mid credits scene, hopefully he’ll be voiced by either Ryan Reynolds, Tom Holland, or Michael Cera? Yes I played Shadow Generations. There is even a full playthrough that I live streamed on this channel under our "Live" tab. If you are talking about how I said that Maria is only used as a plot device for seconds long cut scenes. Then yes Shadow Generations gave us good cutscenes for more than just seconds. However, she essentially was still just a plot device IMO. What I was trying to point out is that in this movie we got more casual, fun, and truly friend building activities that no Shadow game has ever given us. -Matthew
