I want to agree as well, but Movie Sonic is a completely different Sonic than Modern Sonic. Movie Sonic acts like a young child that has character development throughout the trilogy. So in order for Movie Sonic to develop, he has to learn a lot of things in life. In the first movie he found family, in the second movie he made friends and in the third movie he learned about teamwork. It is also confirmed by one of the writers that in the fourth movie, Sonic will face a new challenge in life and that is girls. So it's no surprise that this movie will be about love. When I think about it that way, it sounds cringe. But the more I think of it, it could somehow work like in Sonic Boom
