Can we just appreciate Blaze and Silver's dynamic? One is from a different space and the other from a different time. They have powers unique to them too (at least in Sonic's time-period). Yep. They’re a pretty cool, unique duo. They act as a duo when aiding Sonic in fighting the threat of the week in the comics (and are a duo in the games). Even though they meet up as partners to work together on some occasions, I feel fans have grown to see them as a duo. Much like how Team Dark is a trio, and Amy, Tails, Sonic, and Knuckles make up the main cast everyone is familiar with.

I admire Silver's optimistic attitude. For a guy who lived in a dystopian world especially in a young age, most people would either be insane or depressed. He said it himself that plants aren't commonly a thing in his time. And here he is trying to grow plants himself. Sure, he doesn't know anything about gardening (I mean who would be if you live where plants aren't even a thing?) and he got frustrated when he was doing something wrong, but seeing him smile even in the littlest of things such as growing plants and waiting for them to grow is really heartwarming. I love his character a lot and I loved his character more in the IDW comics.

Before this comic came out, I wrote and sang a song called “New Stories” that was about this exactly - using ashes and bones to grow a new garden on the remains of something awful. It was a metaphor for healing from trauma and to see my favorite fandom create this comic years later was like an affirmation that I’d healed. :)

These two always had an amazing dynamic and chemistry in sonic O6. Which is made even better by the fact that they're both probably two of the best Sonic Characters ever. So I'm really glad that these new versions of them from the comics still retain that great chemistry. Silver's character is super different but I dare say it's an incredible improvement, pair that with the Blaze from Rush and it's just so much fun watching these two interact. Same goes for all the other characters in these comics, Ian Flyn really gave all these characters some much needed... well Character! Everyone feels so unique, alive, and familiar, I so wish we could get more of this writing in the games.

I wouldn't say that Silver is entirely different. Just has different motivations. In 06 he had no clue how to stop things and was mad. Now that he is freely time-traveling (however he does it) he has more freedom and can actually help out.

The interesting part is that even in Sonic CD's good future, all the plants have technological stuff grafted into them, which makes me think it's an automated irrigator or some other device that automates the process of taking care of domestic plants, so even in the good timelines Silver couldn't grow plants, not because there's nothing to grow, but because plants evolved to the point of self-sustenance, thus leaving him with nothing to do.
