Installed it as an application on my homescreen using TeconMoon's WiiVC injector. Using that, I forced it to think my gamepad was a wii classic controller so I could play without my TV lol

It just acts as a shortcut, really. Makes the wii u boot into wii mode then the game automatically. Saves you from having to go to the wii menu > homebrew browser > wii flow > game.

Hey, Cool tutorial! I may have a sorta fix for the crashes, Usually the render is set to DX12 but if you set the render to vulkan in the config file in xenia then it should fix some crashes, it should be inside the GPU section of the file, its gpu = "any" on default but if you change it to gpu = "vulkan" than that should fix some of the crashes but be it might be just a tiny bit slower than DX12 but you shouldn't notice too much of a slow down ingame. I hope this helped and it wasn't too confusing to follow

thanks! the crashes are mostly random, they’re uncommon if you use custom mode, but for specific resolutions, there are higher chances of occasional crashes here and there

For the crashes, I fixed by using gpu = "vulkan" instead of gpu = "any" or gpu = "d3d12" in the xenia-canary.config.toml file. The crashes begin to be very often with the default gpu configuration, and it was getting unplayable for me, specially because of the Night Stages, they are long as hell. The game crashes, and you lose all the stage progress. Yes, the vulkan gpu will not let you play with the best graphics, but it's fair enough if you just want to enjoy the game.

I have found a lifehack to play vulkan at 2k. I just used vkd3d. The game runs in dx12 but then converts to vulkan. However the game with my configuration with 60 fps the emulator dropped to 40

Hey dude! Just wanna say this was an awesome tutorial! And definitely helped people out! Your editing and scripting makes things real simple. If I can ask, could you do a tutorial for Sonic 06? No idea of it’s exactly the same or different, but I would love the mod loader for the game and on Xenia canary there’s a bug where the game runs EXTREMLY fast. So I’m not sure if there’s a mod for that lol. I’ve just been using the original Xenia app for 06 because there it runs fine. No worries if you don’t want to I’m just asking, great video!

you mean different button inputs? no clue, if what you’re trying to do is map the homing attack to A-A like in generations instead of the A-X of unleashed, there’s a mod for that 👍

Some other mods I can't recommend enough are the ones meant to fix some lighting issues Xenia has with Unleashed. Some areas are more dim than they should be or lack proper lighting effects, but there's a mod that fixes this for Eggmanland, and another mod that fixes this for everywhere else in the game.

I had the same problem and I found the solution, you have to be careful when using XBOX360 ISO extract to have unzipped the application before using it and it should work normally

To prevent crashes, just use Vulkan. It has graphical issues that doesn't bother the experience, most of the time...

I have a problem with hitting the "save, install content and launch unleashed" button it opens Xenia and then gives me an error saying "Unhandled exception in xenia" and then immediately closes Xenia. when i download the iso off the website its a zip file and cannot be placed in the iso extract. I unzipped the file and put it into a folder like the video showed but iso is then not extracted an empty folder just appears in the xenia canary folder . I also tried to put the zip file into a regular folder this also doesn't work as iso file isn't recognised by the iso extract software

Usually f5 helps, but if it’s not working, turn the API to “Custom” instead of Vulkan or DirectX

It seems to default to the keyboard settings for me! w,a,s,d for movement as well as dash/jump being other buttons. when i try to use the iso extractor, it says: "Starting ISO-Batch Extraction... (file name with the disc image file) will be skipped, directory problem?" and then the extraction just stops there. I chose the correct iso folder and chose a destination and this error message still pops up, idk what to do bro
