Whenever Sega releases this game again, I would be grateful if they decide to add Sun and Moon Medals to the DLC Stages (along with the Art Books). When it especially comes to the Werehog, exploration is what makes it enjoyable. I say this as Sonic Unleashed is my favorite game for the franchise, and I would explore all it would have to offer whenever they decide to finally release... Well, everything but the Hot Dog Missions in Eggmanland though lol.

11:10 you can also drift using the B button. i wish there was a way to have trigger drifting in that build

Actually that footage is from the final game, the early set file is present in the final stage folder, in only that water section trigger and B drifting is disabled for some reason with the beta layout.

You know I always thought some of the DLC stages could have used sun and moon medal placements and I guess they used to exist but now don’t. 219 for each number is a weird number to stop at so I think the total would be about 250 for each medal. But ngl…I’m glad we only got 200 for each because oh my god the ones we have in the game is more than enough.

Remember a lot of the DLC stages don't have a medal file, so the total amount would've likely been higher. Also it's possible that when the DLC stages were removed from the base game the remaining stages had an increase in Medals to make up for them, so the total may have been 200 even with the stages. But then again they are added to the total unlike the unused 201st Sun Medal in mazuri.

So the single digit DLC stages, apart from being supposed to be in the main game, they were supposed to have EXTRA medals… Certainly that would've created a different experience for 100%, not a good one mind you, but it would be more laborious for one to get 100% completion.

Would've at least been easier to get 120 Sun medals, that's if the total count was going to be higher and that they didn't move the medals from the DLC stages to the base stages. But since the medals are added to the total it's unlikely.

I didn't really think about there being medals in the DLC stages exept for the end section in Arid Sands Act 1 night where an extra sun medal is located because I guess that stage was supposed to be longer or in an act 2 because I alredy knew that at least a few DLC levels are just levels that didn't make it to the base game BUT were in the trailers specifically the night stages and a couple you can acces with the go through walls combo with the Werehog but I didn't expect the other collectables as well that's really intresting 1:04a.m. 9/1/2024

So you used some flags in the debug menu to re-enable them didn't you?, is there a simple way to turn it into a mod? probably not because of the incomplete unused layouts Also great video, made me laugh at least 5 times, and also very interesting

I added entries for the medal.set in the stage.stg file to reenable the medals. Also for the beta layouts I simply disabled the final stage set final and enabled the early one in the same way. As for mods, DLC stages can't be changed with the unleashed manager, and instead the files must be manually placed in the DLC folders. The only real issue is Dragon Road act 4s broken ziplines.

Did the media from the unused layouts make it into the base game :3c

I assume if it did it was probably the media sold by the shops :3

I'm not sure what media it is, but since they were already "collected" (I have a 100% save) then I guess they were bought from the shop or maybe moved to another level.
