I don't know why, but I remember this version being much more difficult than the Xbox 360/ ps3 version. The really difficult sections are the ones where you need to balance yourself as the Werehog on those damn pipes

Yeah the problem with the 360 version is the werehog stages had a LOT of blind jumps and janky physics not well suited for tight platforming. and 30-40 minutes into an HOUR LONG LEVEL to have blind jumps and those janky pipes that required tightrope precision was too much of an ask. It's not so much a matter of difficulty at that point as much as a matter of just bad level design. If they broke up the day and night stages like the Wii version did it'd be a lot more tolerable. Especially the hotdog missions where you can't die even once or you have to start the whole thing over....3 TIMES. (they still expect you to take an hour though). Wii was hard, but fair and thus we remember it better.

I really like the way the boost system was implemented in the Wii and PS2 versions of the game. It is not a constant boost of speed and it doesn't feel too overpowered compared to the HD version or even Sonic Colors and Generations

I actually had a glitch happen to me while I was playing Sonic Unleashed on the Wii. Instead of riding the cart sled, Sonic ran on that section even though it's supposed to be used for the cart sled. I ran all through that section questioning how it happened. But that doesn't stop my love for this stage. cx

Hi! I’m a speed runner and currently hold the WR for the day levels and this stage. When you boost on the loop your horizontal momentum can sometimes override the vertical momentum and put you further than the rings/cart. A more effective way to do this (though harder) is to boost at the peak before the loop, immediately jump and boost when the front of the cart is just above the little ring on the tower in the background! Hope that answers your question! Rails are weird in this game! Lot of cool glitches with them!

Aw yes, this place.... i had gotten stuck on the Day's "Time Attack" portion of the level, and had decided to take a breather from the game, and my little sweet neice and nephew wanted to play Sonic, because it looked SOOOOOO COOOOL AND FUN!!! I let them play, sure! Why not? They've played video games before, they know the drill with the save slots! ... ... .... ....... ........... I came home after going over to a friends house to find that they saved over my main save file. Everything i had worked at was gone. I never beat this game. I got so stinkin close.... i didn't touch the game for so long afterwards, that i had lost all the skills i had acquired to be able to play the level. So, in a fit of anger, i put it on the shelf. And never touched it again. Wished i would've TRIED to replay the game, but no.... this games leaves a bitter taste in my mouth because of it.

Sonic Colors doesn't look too much better in graphics than this but it's better implemented, indeed Unleashed had more textures but in some way it did look bad, too much bad light textures. In terms of level design, Sonic Colors is more complex but graphically it doesn't get to the level of a PS3 game though.

I remember 2009 what's my first big year for gaming and I played this game non-stop on the Wii. About a year ago I got it for the Xbox 360 and the difference is so massive. The stages of the wii were way cooler and it just feels like the fastest Sonic game. However every other aspect besides the stages themselves, the new port is better hands down

This is not played a real Wii. Dolphin, an emulator for Windows, was used with Nvidia Shadowplay for recording. Games from consoles are recorded as follows: My capture device is this (it's kinda old and might be out of stock): www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815100098 HDMI is protected from certain sources of course. To get around that, I use this: www.amazon.com/BG-550-portable-Powered-Splitter-Support/dp/B0089DVCT8 The recording software that comes with the capture card is crap, so I use two things: If I don't need to talk, I use VH Capture 1.4.6.0. It is free and saves videos to the .avi format in lossless quality depending on your installed codecs. The codec is use is MagicYUV 1.1 since it is free. Works for me without lag, but file sizes end up being huge. I have the space for that though and I do encode before I upload. If I do need to talk, since I'm a scrub I use OBS in file output mode for that. That's pretty much it.

Pick your poison! The PS2 and Wii version: Has a real simple daytime stage but has the toughest Werehog levels after that and there's multiple of them. Xbox360 and PS3: Let's put this final test of a level which is 20 to 30 minutes of a level so you can head to Egg Dragoon and Dark Gaia quicker

As a person that 100% this version and completed the HD Version in 360 first, i must say, this version is way more enjoyable i just goed trough the entire stage first attempt, when i played this game for the first time, but i would have liked if they mantain the princial gimmick of the world, changing beetwen werehog and hedghehog, because Damn 5 levels for the werehog and only 1 for Sonic is INSANE, i Still preffer the HD Version, Because yea it's harder longer and its just feels really cool once you master the stage, But still this version does it so good

This is what made the wii version superior in my opinion. Sure the day stages are considered worse and the controls feel stiffer, but having the Night stages split up into acts (and the level design that came from that) made the Werehog a LOT MORE interesting to play as. Honestly the only night stage I liked in the 360 version was Cool edge because there's some depth to the stage, but the Wii version of Cool edge night breaks it up into exploring the outside, exploring the caves, and exploring a frozen temple. Infinitely superior. Plus the Wii version was built with platforming in mind while the 360 was built for combat, thus while the Wii version's combat was worse, it was passable, but the 360's platforming was broken at best....(cough skyscraper scamper cough)

Simply Practice. When i played through my first time I tried to s rank everything. Which was pretty easy until this level. Many restarts were had but But halfway through the game you learn how to do this level. Apatos/chun nana for boosting timing, Shamar for drifting and adabat for quick steping/Rails.

Man, and people say this version is terrible... I mean, I get it that the HD version is far better, but I really hate it that people say Unleashed Wii/PS2 is the worst or second-worst Boost Sonic game out there. Especially since the boost implemented in this "inferior" version is so neatly implemented that it never feels like it's "Boost2Win"

@@teiuq1614 I did to, what I’m saying is when it come down to the 360, we had to stop running super fast and find medals and shit meanwhile the Wii version, gave players the medals automatically when they cross the finish line

SD unleashed day time stages aren’t as dazzling as the HD stages but they are so fast and frantic and with time being the only ranking it’s like learning a race track. I never got the S rank here as a kid, should go try again now

Not sure if you know, but at 0:32 you can cut off those turns by attacking those flying robots and using lightspeed before the straight
