Such a sad moment. I attended their very last concert (it was the 3rd time I saw Sonic Youth live) in a little town close to São Paulo. It was beautiful and the setlist was great, but there was such a heavy atmosphere. We had heard many rumors, but didn't know exactly what was going on. Yesterday, I started reading Kim Gordon's book, Girl in a band, what made me look for the last performance of this specific song... Heartbreaking all the story behind the band's end. S/2

Same but recently I read an article where Thurston said the band hasn't permanently broken up, they are on a hiatus. There have been times where they thought of coming back for a reunion, but Thurston said that won't happen until he and Kim sort out there issues. But there is hope for a reunion!

You could argue this is one of their best songs, top 5 for sure, So sad to see it like this with the toxic atmosphere...

does this version of the song feel just...completely empty to anyone else? what a weird song to play, with everything that went on at the time. kim couldn't even look at him, and with good reason.

Yeah I just finished 'Girl in a Band' I still love all the SY stuff I grew up with but Thurston is such a callous bastard. Kim was so brave to play the last shows, never mind not singing or looking at him, he's lucky he never got a bass guitar in the back of the head
