Night Music was a live show on Sundays at midnight hosted by David Sanborn. It was on around 1990 (?), and the house band had Hiram Bullock, Jools Holland, Omar Hakim, Marcus Miller, and David Sanborn. The show was an hour, they always had an eclectic group of guests, and at the end of the show all of the performers would jam a few songs together. This performance is Sonic Youth, the other guests that night, and the house band. Great show.

A master flutist (fluteur) delivering quite possibly the most impressive performance of all-times. His graceful deliveries and unmatched notes could only be compared to a bottle of 1787 Chateau Margaux. Notice the master at work when he bends the left ring finger whilst lifting his right leg before faking a epidemic seizure backflip (oh so magnifique). These combination of notes played effortlessly in complex form shouts that a god lived amongst us in 1989 and we were deceived. I acquired a painting of that solo hanging above my fireplace and often reflect the real beauty of life sitting in my velour chaise beside it. There is only one word to describe that performance....Merçi.

U2 was considered one of the biggest acts on the planet at that time but Sonic Youth just made them look like they were half asleep playing. The crowd got it and gave Sonic Youth 10 times the enthusiasm back. Everybody there including U2 knew what the score was.

Literally most of the best songs are written and sung by hers fuck all the way off thinking all she was was an image. I literally never listen to any of the songs Thurston wrote and sang.
