Hugely appreciative of your tireless efforts to give us the facts on all kinds of devices! That said, I personally have no interest in using NAM captures on my Pocket Master (of which I bought first one, and then a 2nd one because I love it so much and wish to have one for my electric as well as one for my acoustic, in the latter case for loading acoustic IRs and having a few effects in various presets, for various cover songs). I‘d rather just use the stock amps on board the Pocket Master, rather than forcing the (cheap) converters to do the heavy lifting of converting NAM captures, with obvious tonal losses involved. I don‘t really understand why anyone would prefer to use NAM captures on such a device, rather than just choosing to use the on-board sounds or else use a ToneX with (high-quality) captures, or any other modeler for that matter. I figure NAM captures - being great-sounding when played back with great gear - lose their attractiveness and accuracy when played back on cheap gear, so what‘s the point of choosing NAM over something else? If accuracy is what we want, we should go with the gear that can deliver that. For me, good sound is sufficient, and my audiences agree. Nobody cares about accuracy, so forget NAM. I also have ToneX and ToneX One, but will instead be using two Pocket Masters for my solo performances, and they will be quite good enough. As for the Valeton G-5 soon to come, it will also handle NAM captures, but probably also with conversion and cheap converters, so I wouldn‘t expect it to deliver (much) better results than the Pocket Master, and maybe Sonicake will even improve on the NAM performance a bit in future firmware. But as far as I‘m concerned, the PM is perfect as-is, at its fantastic price point and give its full feature set. With a bit of care, I will even be able to switch presets from song to song using my feet, while also doing away with a dedicated tuner and some other pedals. Great times!

Quello che ha suggerito Jason si può verificare facendo un profilo a 44.1 kHz (si può fare facilmente su tonezone3000) e vedendo se in quel caso suona effettivamente uguale (o quantomeno più simile) al plugin e al dimehead.

@@milankotevski1663 What you should understand. I am looking for a replacement for Tone X One since Ik will not unlock USB MIDI. I dont want the big pedal I want a modular solution. The SPM is more than enough to take the place of that TX1. The NAM part? use the damb EQ its why its there. The NAM captures sound great as they are. No it dont sound like the plug in nor the 700 dollar pedal. Many thanks for your tests and results. I was expecting some discrepancy by what I was hearing from other videos sound comparisons, I hope you are right about the EQ Shift, cause that would be an easy fix for Sonicake. It's also a great thing that more companies are adhering to NAM profiles, hope it becomes pretty standard soon. Other thing I would like to ask you, have you ever used Denoise technology such as Izotope RX Spectral de-noise, or C-suite C-axe guitar denoise? Cause I was having some impressive real time results using these, and it makes me think it would be a great advance for DSPs to include something like that Keep up the good work, thanks again!

Thank you so much, I'm happy that you appreciate the video! Actually, I never use those tools...may I ask you for what scope do you use them? thanks!
@pqpguilhermepqp3 сағат бұрын
@LeoGibsonGtr Spectral denoise is an adaptive filtering technique to filter uncorrelated signal. You can train it with a noise spectrum and have that noise removed from your signal. Makes your guitar so quiet that you dont even need noise gate anymore, and the tone is almost the same. I really love it.

I would love to see a chinese $150-200 NAM/IR loader with hyper accuracy NAM captures player capacity the Dimehead has very powerful computing specs to design to handle Nam, and still has the limitation of running hyper accuracy captures (even computers sometimes have trouble with those), but if it was stripped down to only nam/ir player features, then it could probably make it for an even better price than the standard NAM player
