I'll admit Clive has tools, and the character is newbie-friendly. But he was literally DESIGNED AROUND the heat system. The char is only as good bc there's not completely defined counterplay. Its easy to spot and people will take advantage of that. Sonic is a decent player, and he'll get better with the character where it may be more right to say that. But rn? not even close. Clive is good but not broken. That belongs to chars like Jin, Yoshi, Drag, Nina, etc etc. Season 2 of T8 has ALOT to fix.

@@AlphiAsakura Clive has the best range in the game, insane plus frames, insane chip damage, and overall high damage off 1 basic combo and in terms of counterplay, theres nothing besides keeping your distance and play REALLY patient because clive can just heat engage from across the screen, no one else can do that, in conclusion, sonic is carried by clive (also yea season 2 got a lot of stuff to fix 😔)

None of this is specific to Clive outside of range. keeping YOU out and in his range is what his kit is meant to do, he's a 2-range char. There are other characters like Yoshi and Victor who have more absurd things about them that make them completely irritating to go against. Clive has good tools, but if you get in on him, he has no poking tools to get him out of situations. He's not as broken as some of the main cast. I could go on, but its not to argue if he's broken or not. He's strong, but not broken. In this game, everyone has high dmg. everyone has wall carry, everyone has range or their own unique thing that is annoying. There are more broken chars in the base roster, and Clive just isn't one of them. Literally every situation against Clive you can lab, and find extremely easy counterplay.
