SonicFox Released MORE Reptile Cyrax Gameplay! How Busted Is It?!

Hello honeybee, I am a worker at NRS and I have some unfortunate news for you. After reviewing this video, I must inform you that we will be banning reptile from all major events until the next patch. Being able to do a 13% grab is just too unfair to be in the game and we believe that this makes reptile top 1 in the game when paired with cyrax. Until reptile is nerfed, you are not allowed to use him at any tournaments. I hope that you understand and I hope that you know, we are working on the nerfs immediately. Edit: after even further inspection of this broken team. We are removing reptile from the game completely. At 11:14 you can see that he was able to do a 215 damage throw for no bar. This is enough proof to show that he is the most broken character in NRS history. We would appreciate if you would stop downplaying reptile to make less people play him. Please and thank you.

Thereay be some bomb setups. Reptiles Lizard animation moves seem to completely avoid explosion 💥 and you can Hold R1 to delay explosion 💥 for when you want it to go off instead of the normal timer ⌛ You just hold and do string into spit then let off R1 and it avoids blast. But spit has very long recovery so couldn't follow up. I did do a throw into MID bomb that missed Reptile and had instant recovery but I can't get the perfect timing to avoid blast again. Maybe someone else can figure it out. I mean others figured out the new Geras/Lao time stop Lao kidnap cancels that looped meterless after they patched out the ones before. You can actually get Bet in combo from max range B3xxDF3F(fast Forceball) into Net but the timing is very tight. I still can't get it and I've seen it done.

I could see cyrax being the best Kameo if self destruct or net was an ambush instead of a summon bc that would give reptile an actual setup to stop wake-up armored reversal as seen in the video. Cyrax can get u combo pickups from specials and combo Enders for 1 bar that it would take 2 Kameo bars for Darius or Tremor. Scorpion is better for combos but he can only get pickups in the air but he’s got an overhead. You can get an unblockable setup off invis using Jax ground punch or goro stomp but that’s hard to combo. And sektors rockets are really hard to combo off of when not using his rockets as oki. Idk, bc of reptiles ability to self sustain his combo damage, you should be looking for a ambush assist bc you need anti reversal and 50/50 setups instead of more damage but most of the kameos only give him half of what he needs, he never has a full kit. For this reason I really prefer Goro, scorpion, or sektor with reptile and I’ve been trying to explore Kano/ Stryker bc of the ambush assists as well. If Jax grab could come from behind like scorpions far assist and could extend off of reptiles air combo, I’d main Jax tbh for the unblockable and combos

Because of how reptile uses Kameos for his play style, I think a lot of assists need to be changed from summons to ambush. Why is goros walking punch a summon? It’s too slow to be a combo ender when hitstun starts running out. Why is cyrax self destruct a summon if it’s used for setups? Why is sektors flamethrower a summon if it’s made for restands? Why is frost orb not an ambush? I could go on about how several assists could be argued for ambush property instead of summon.

most of the time when i call cyrax with reptile for the invisicopter (i use cyrax with shang so its more morphed reptile) i just dash in n death roll ..doesnt give full invisi by recovery (ex invisi does) but 23 frame advantage sweep distance screen carry for 360 health (no shang buff) isnt too bad

Thats about 474 for 1 bar 1 kameo if you hit the 2 3 3 falling fangs but 46% + 25 in chip if you want the consistency from jump 1 2 at the end.

I'll give you the full timeline. Sonic and Bee played a ft10 Shao Khan vs Reptile, it ended 9-10 and sonic won it. Then sonic took that and said reptile is a top tier character, honeybee disagreed. Later, sonic hit up honeybee on twitter saying cyrax is his best kameo, then pulled up to his stream to explain why he thought so. Honeybee said he wasn't convinced. Sonic posted a set where he played reptile cyrax, honeybee reacted and was unimpressed in his last reaction video, but still expressed he was open to being challenged. Then today.

I don’t understand why Sonic thinks Cyrax is Reptiles best Kameo. If it’s for the invis setup, Scoprion can do it better both when you spend bar and when you don’t. I guess cyrax can do the corner stuff but scorpion gives you so much more damage in combo that I don’t think a conversion in corner for like 5% more is that good when you can get 45% one bar off any conversion with scorpion and can’t even sniff that with cyrax

After seeing all the new tech on twitter and tiktok, this def his best kameo by a lot. Cyrax does a lot. Back throw, which is a huge bonus, optimal is 22%. Reptile best Invisible corner setup can now be down mid screen with Cyrax, plus all the extra damage. Some of Reptile basic bnb that do 30% goes to 40%+. We know how strong a meterless backthrow for 22% is in this game. 40% combos off 1 assist call out is crazy, and we know Cyrax also allows you to meter burn grab combo. And if you need it you can still make some of his combos safe with Cyrax if you want you use the Kameo whole meter. So many free Invis setup with cyrax. Not mention corner combos, and and combo mid screen that carries the opponent to the corner including deathroll can be extended with Cyrax for more way more damage.

You have far more and better invis setups with scorpion, sub zero, frost without burning meter. Sure you can do the same with cyrax but he's far from the best kameo for reptile. Id even argue goro would be a better kameo choice before cyrax. When it comes to corner combos, sure Cyrax can extend off a throw, but so can scorpion and so can tremor. If you want to argue a combo off the fwd throw, that doesn't go into helping reptile at all since anyone with a cyrax kameo can do that. The only real advantage cyrax kameo gives Reptile is the combo off death roll. Tremor has that too but that's besides the point. When compared to Scorpion kameo it's leagues less reliable overall.

I don’t use Reptile, but I AM a fellow low tier main with Scorpion. Anyway, the only tech I saw here with Cyrax is that it helps Reptile get invis setups. Which as you said, Scorpion Kameo can already do for more damage and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen invis setups with Stryker. So what exactly makes Cyrax “200%” Reptile’s best Kameo? Because it wasn’t really showcased here. I wonder if Sonic is ever gonna try out Sub or Scorp? It feels like he’s used every character except those 2 at this point.

That's a wavedash homie. You double tap forward twice then hit the block button (R2/RT) then hit forward after the block button. It cancels out the dash animation quicker resulting in what you saw. Some characters have better wavedashes than others. Hope this helps!

I respect sonic and i watch both HoneyBee and sonic content BUT there are things that only sonic can make work and they say it's top tier but if someone like me tries to do it... it would be bad, and also there is also players like HoneyBee or Bio who master their characters if not fully at least at 80+%, i bet people wouldn't take sonics comment as serious if they said something about The Flash in Injustice 2 like idk a better combo, when we all Know that HoneyBee might have a reason for finishing his combo on his own way... and mastering ghe character he knows what is best, maybe he got +frames or a mixup, idk, sonic can make stuff top tier if we add the sonic buff to it, but then there is the more "casual friendly but still super optimized pro" stuff that Honey Bee has, so in this one Bee takes it unless Sonic shows some REAL new tech that actually works then we all might be wrong.

Thanks for this string of videos critiquing Sonics wild claims of Reptile being Broken Stupid and Cyrax being Reptile's best Kameo!? I feel Cyrax has uses but the Nerfs kind of murdered him in this meta. Of course a player like Sonic can probably outplay most tournament players without Kameo for 2/3 the match but he could be throwing out constant Lao hats or constant Nades breaking armor/plus on block/launch on hit instead of just using Cyrax for combo extension and low damage throw combos. I mean why not use Scorpion to get tons of extensions on all of Reptiles buttons with extreme high damage or safety on everything with Nades/Goro/Lao? No one wants to use Forward Kopter and lose all Kameo moves, forward throw, breaker, meat shield and combos/setups/safety for 24 SECONDS! At least with Tremor/Sindel you trade not having Kameo for 30seconds for an 80% forced HTB Reset that's extremely hard to Fuzzy which is absolutely worthy. One blockstring or one plugged gap(Cyrax Forward Kopter)is definitely not worth the 24 SECONDS I hope we are wrong and Sonic has some mind-blowing tech for Reptile, I'd be ecstatic because I want some Reptile dirt. But to this day there has been ZERO dirt for Reptile. At least nothing close to what Reiko/Sindel/Kenshi/Shao/Johnny/Geras/Kitana has/had

The thing is that reptile doesn’t need more damage, he needs setups that beat armored reversals or set up 50/50s. His invisibility is worse than smokes bc smoke can just combo into it instantly. Reptiles overhead is super committal and canceling it into death roll is super committal too so he NEEDS mix and anti-reversal setups. Cyrax makes death roll and charged overhead less risky but it doesn’t give him any 50/50s or antireversals, just meterless invis setups that can be blasted thru with meter. Darius and Tremor give mix, invis setup, and anti-reversal setup but it costs 2 kameo bar and Darius is limited with combo extension. Goro gives good block pressure, keeps combos safe, and has unblockable stomp setup off invis combo Sektor gives good oki with rockets. Stryker and Kano keeps your block strings safe give you good oki like sektor. And scorpion is combo king with an overhead And everyone else is kinda the same bc of summon assists. He needs good ambush kameos which we have but they cost 2 assist calls

@jordansebert11 Calling sektor missile near the end of your combos so the rocket hits your opponent on wakeup. You have time to dash up and meaty with back 3 too so the low and rocket hit at the same time and will break any wake up armor. He's good for neutral and oki and that works for the invisible setup or after air 233 db4 ender when you're closer to the corner
