WePlay Ultimate Fighting League Season 1 is set to take place between March 25th and April 11th, 2021. The tournaments will not be held at the same time and will instead follow one another.
Mortal Kombat 11 - March 25th-28th;
SOULCALIBUR VI - April 1st-4th;
Tekken 7 - April 8th-11th.
Prize Pool:
Mortal Kombat 11 - $50,000;
SOULCALIBUR VI - $50,000;
Tekken 7 - $50,000.
Just like with WePlay Dragon Temple, WUFL S1 will be held at the WePlay Esports Arena Kyiv. WePlay Esports will be taking a multitude of safety measures to guarantee the wellbeing of all event participants. As such, all of the players and staff will be tested for COVID-19. Furthermore, no audience will be present at the event as a cautionary measure.

I feel the same way about this as I do about people saying he goes to loser's bracket on purpose. Like on the one level I kind of see the rationale and why people think it might be beneficial but on another level it's just so hard for me to see any pro player putting themselves on the precipice of elimination for such an impalpable advantage. Especially if opponents can be ready for it lol. I mean personally I am 100% sure Sonic will sometimes "throw" the first round of a first match in order to download his opponent, but entire games is much harder to see any pro player doing on purpose imo You were probably being facetious and I realize I'm overthinking it in general but I find it to be an interesting thing to overthink about lol

Sonics ability to switch up is what carries him. You can tell rewind was ready for him but sonic gave him different looks at the end and rewind never adjusted.

I mean some of it I have to imagine is psychological. Not saying he won't always prefer just a 3-0 but SF for sure will sometimes throw the first round of the first match in a set if he wants to download his opponent. So I have to imagine at least at times in those 0-2s there's an element of "Lulling into a false sense of momentum" It's the same as like - okay I don't believe SF or any pro player is going to the losers bracket on purpose like so many people seem to think. But I do think Sonic is confident enough in his mental fortitude that he's comfortable with the bracket reset because he is just that confident (with plenty of reason) in his ability to simply mentally outlast his opponent. Which imo we saw vs TM's Cetrion spam (all due respect to TM who is a godlike player as well)

You know the more time that goes by the more I think they did something VERY interesting with this game. I think the IDEA of variations and custom variations is game changing and I’d like to see the idea of that in all fighting games. I’ve always championed the idea of its not what you do but how you do it. I recognize the “Tier” system but I always think that you can make any character work as long as your good. Characters are just tools to express yourself in fighting games. You and your style come through the character and having variations add to that. Good sht..
