Although, I think he would've thought of using Infinite to create a portal and escape the destruction at the last second, but the way he was counting down their destruction TO THE LAST SECOND AND WAITING LONGER TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS kinda makes this Sonic Seconds scene play true.... I thought the idea was that those affected by Infinite's powers were the only ones who would be effected (affected?). Since Eggman didn't want to die, he would have had Infinite only use his powers on the Sonic Forces. (Other dimension/imaginary/whatever) sun comes down, the Forces minds go "well, were being horribly fried by the sun, time to die", Eggman goes free due to not being under Infinite's power.

The thing is, Infinite's power has an AOE (Area of Effect), it can't hit specific people. If what you said was true, Eggman wouldn't have needed to flee with Infinite when sucking Sonic, and indirectly your Avatar, into Null Space.
