I have a bunch of pinball machines in my basement. This looks like it could help with the amount of sound that travels upstairs. I like that it can be handled w/o gloves.

This would be great for my bands practice space. We have a drop ceiling, and a lot of sound leaks in from other bands. We were looking into fiberglass insulation, but this looks so much easier to handle!

I don't have a drop ceiling, but I'm thinking about using this stuff on the walls and ceiling of my closet to make a recording booth for vocals and voice-overs. It's a heck of a lot cheaper than acoustic foam!

Would you gain much benefit from double stacking Soniguard?

Double-stacking Soniguard will not influence NRC, but it will drastically increase STC. i.e. It will NOT affect the acoustics inside the room, but it WILL drastically reduce the sound traveling through the ceiling to spaces above or the opposite, the sound traveling from above the ceiling into the room below.

Unfortunately, no. Soniguard can only be used in a drop ceiling installation.
