Yeah that's actually what probably happened. Since we know Sally exe the whisper of soul is a sequel to this, and one character (SPOILERS) Alice, has a lot of different powers including resetting the timeline with the master emerald, so it's safe to say she can give visions to people to save them since she's trying to help everyone by resetting the timeline over and over

The problem with the original that this one fixes is the fact that the characters are treated as characters. Tails, Knuckles, and Ivo are all treated with the respect for their characters that the original lacked. This was quite scary at parts because I got attached to the characters.

I'm not even a Sonic.exe fan and even I admit this is a really well designed and fun game. Really hard at parts and does have a few flaws here and there but overall very solid experience. One I definitely recommend.
