I stand by the fact that Carly AND Jax (more specifically Jax) dragged Brenda and Sonny into their custody battle. Jax was never Brenda and the fact that she chose Sonny. Brenda gaslit Sonny as well, because she knows both Sonny and Jax love her and she plays that against them. And he knew he could convince Brenda to leave.

Some but she is dead wrong on her assessment of Carly. The children ought to come first. But Brenda is too wrapped up in herself to see that. She was happy with having a son because she hoped that would mean Sonny would only cling to her and Alec. She assumes that Carly asked Sonny to do this but she did not. And Brenda always treated Carly terribly and as the mother of Sonny's children Brenda should have at least not bad mouthed Carly to her children.

I. Think we need to Remember Brenda, is only here for short time and when writers aren’t great at doing their job this is what you end up with! I watched Sonny and Brenda from the beginning they had something very magical with great writers this isn’t it!! I wish when they brought Brenda back they would of mended their relationship have Sonny send her away to protect her so when they have her come back for short time they could be strong couple! This scene touches me in a profound way. I know what Brenda is feeling here because I went through it myself with my ex-husband and his kids mother. Sonny needed to get his priorities straight. Brenda is his wife, NOT Carly, so why put Carly first. This was superb acting on both M&V's part. I think Sonny sees himself in Carly, which is why he's always defending her, (to the detriment of his marriage to the only woman he's ever truly, truly loved).

I don’t think Brenda is the only woman Sonny ever loved. I think Brenda is an obsession. In Sonny’s mind, she is the embodiment of the perfect woman. He really believes he loves her, but Sonny just wanted to possess her. Put her up on a pedestal and admire her. But it never worked out with Brenda, because she was not the woman he tried to force her to be. She was a real person apart from Sonny. She did not want to be on a pedestal. She wanted to be his wife, not an idea. Sonny never recognized that. And whether you like her or not, Carly is the woman who has Sonny’s heart. She is a match for him. She gives as good as she takes. She can deal with him on his level. And while their relationships did not always run smoothly, they always found their way back to each other.

@@beegee1960 I couldn’t agree with you more. Many of S&B fans are hopeless romantics. Hell, I was one of them. I remember when the paired Carson and I hated it at first but then I got to see how great they were together and they were definitely toxic the first few marriages so I was glad when we got the Carjax pairing but since they reunited in 2015, I have been back on board. Now that I’m in my mid 30’s, I have to say, while it’s great to be with someone who motivates you to be better( Brenda for Sonny) now the at I’m at the point where I truly love who I am, and I appreciate and hope to be with someone who will also love and accept me just the way that I am( Carly for Sonny). It’s great to want to be better but it’s even greater we a person can learn to love themselves for who they are, instead of focusing on who they aren’t. Sonny has always hated himself and he saw Brenda as some sort of redemption vs an actual match. Again, used to be a die hard S&B fan and well as Robin and Jason but I definitely grew to love Carson and Jasam as well as Scrubs pairing better. 🤷🏽‍♀️….. also, I did like the Carjax pairing too 😉

The reality is, Carly is the mother of his children. Carly and Sonny have history. Sonny knows he can always count on Carly. Brenda, was always unobtainable. For Brenda the same thing in Sonny. Brenda struggled with the fact that while she was gone, Sonny lived on. Sonny had children. Brenda continues to say that Carly. attacks her and yet Brenda NEVER mentions the fact that SHE contributes to that animosity. Jax played dirty buying out the mediator, Sonny just played dirtier.

Sounds like a Carly fan. Sonny and Brenda met on the docks in 1994, before Carly came on the scene. Those of us who were watching them know. His history with her is his longest with a woman on the show. He loved her 1st and best and always. GH writers did not do SnB justice. The writing was horrible. The storyline was horrible. It’s clear they weren’t invested in Sonny and Brenda.

I think sonny had sexual passion for Brenda but never real love or respect, she played too many games over the years. Sonny showed more compassion, sympathy for Karen, Lilly and Carly.

The truth is, Although Brenda lived Sonny with all her heart and soul, Sonny loved possessing her. Sacrificing is not his love language, not if if it’s him that has to do it. The ultimate confirmation and testimony to his “love” for Brenda would have him giving his business to Jason and Carly and leaving port Charles with her. GH ruined his character and all the progressed and character development that was put into him after Stone’s death and Lily’s death

Brenda was only with Sonny and Jax since the 90's. It was one of the biggest love triangles in soap history that spanned decades. She never jumped around from guy to guy like characters like Elizabeth for example. She fell in love with Sonny when she was 19 if I remember correctly. Carly just likes her leftovers I guess. Brenda's sons father was a serious relationship she had while she wasn't on the show. Sonny is the one who "gets around". But Brenda will always be the love of his life. Him and Carly only work because Carly was willing to accept him being in the mafia and Brenda always thought he could be a better person and didn't want that lifestyle.
