Most of us have been following this guy since he was in from first to last. I never got to see him perform in that band, but I got to see him in 2008 doing this stuff. Who would've known he'd be the next big thing back then.

After being asked what the track Gypsyhook was about, Sonny replied with: "…the song "Gypsyhook" is kinda funny, but it's a name that I created for…it comes from "gypsy" and "hooker." It's like chicks you see at clubs that look like gypsies; they're all '70s and s**t. That's what it's kind of about. It's a fun song and it's something that I think a lot of people can relate to. Just chicks being something you don't want to be, being a s**t, that's what it's about."

This song makes me feel like im in high school again in my emo clothes and hair with my friends hanging out at a hot topic then getting food, looking at stuff in stores we couldnt afford and everyone meeting at someones house and just hanging out eating pizza, and listening to music and playing video games in the summer.

Wow...I read the lyrics before listening to the song, and I didn't expect it to sound at ALL like this. Once again an electro musician employs lyrical dissonance to an amazing extent. Not since Haackula have I heard anything like this. Sonny Moore really should make more stuff like this. I think I may like this even better than his work as Skrillex.

You obviously don't know much about Skrillex. 2/3 songs he makes have his vocals, but a lot of them the vocals are chopped & sliced to the point where you can't tell it's him and just think it's a melody. He also sings in many songs such as: Voltage, Needed Change, Summit, Breakin' A Sweat, etc...

He didn't swtich to EDM because of his surgery. He's mentioned it in multiple interviews that it's what he always wanted to do, and even years before he started as Skrillex, he used to work on his Skrillex side-project. Skrillex was born long before Sonny Moore did his Gypsyhook EP.
