Joe was a guest on the show and at the time he and Demi were together, hence the chemistry. They also worked together in Camp Rock playing a couple . Sonny and Chad kind stayed opened to be picked eventually but since Demi had quit to take care of her mental health, it kind of stayed like that so everyone can fantasise about them being together again 🥹

I just found out that it's "sOnny" not "sUnny", here in my country it was called "Sunny Entre Estrelas" ("Sunny among stars" in brazilian portuguese) so I always tought it was sunny like the weather, they even pronounce it like that, I'm like ??? Why "O" ?

To be fair, in English it is still pronounced like Sunny. I guess Sonny is just more likely to be someone’s name (though I can’t say that I’ve seen the name Sonny outside of the show). And the name of the show is supposed to be a play on the phrase “Sunny with a chance of rain,” which is often heard in weather reports and parodies of weathermen. It’s so interesting to see how it was marketed in other countries!
