So you rather muffle the sound under a blanket instead of blindfolding the testers???

Do they cover up TV’s when comparing them?

Listening to 2 different speakers under a cloth, right in front of you, is a bizarre way to gauge sound quality

Good point, rip trueplay and homepods automatic tuning too. Should have just blindfolded them.

This had to be the WORST sound test I've ever seen on KZbin. The music selections were trash and hiding the speakers under a blanket was just weird. This test proves nothing

@@rahalrodrigo5430 but if we blindfolded people for comparisons then the audiophile industry would crumble.

Absolute idiots. "Oh it sounds kind of muffled". Just blindfold the listeners.

We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning kzbin.infoUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.

Correction.. You actually can use Sonos as a TV speaker through AirPlay, it just isn't as seamless as it would be with HomePod

Problem with the homepod is the lack of mids. It might sound clear at first but when listening more with it it it's getting more obvious that it lacks mids.
@kierand9410 Жыл бұрын
I feel like I'm going mad when people prefer the sound of the Homepods over the 100s. The gaping hole in the mids of the Homepods makes them sound awful. And here they sound scratchy and distorted in a way that the Era 100s don't. Bizarre.
@mrgold35914 ай бұрын
I have a single Era 100 in kitchen with Arc/2Xsubs/Fives in living room and Beam/sub/One SLs in Office. I did TruePlay and use systems mostly for TV viewing with room or whole house audio a few times a month. The Era 100 works perfectly in the kitchen with our iPhones for music or one button push to link to Arc system to hear the TV for news or sports without cranking up the Arc/2Xsubs/Fives. I have the option to add a second Era 100 to replace the One SLs in office or plug-n-play as needed around the house.

I just bought 2 Era 100's and they sound awesome when paired together as stereo mode. Setup was super simple and played all sources of music. I don't have the apple homepod 2 so I am curious how they compete with each other.

Hi great video I just ordered the BEAM 2 + Mini Sub + ERA 100's that should sound good right ? its for a 12 x 12 foot room with a 7.5 foot ceiling or do i need to shell out for the ARC ULTRA ? thx cheers from Canada

One of the testers assumed the speaker on the viewer's left was the HomePod based on its shape under the sheet and picked that one. Surely that's too biased to be useful.
@josephkim007 Жыл бұрын
I think blindfolding the testers would be better. U can even tell which one is the Sonos by its height. It sticks out more. Also, by the volume increase noises. I think the spatial audio becomes limited if you cover it up too. Appreciate the video though. Just thought the testing method was strange.
@marcobarriosno Жыл бұрын
HomePods are using ALAC for streaming music, which is lossless. Wi-Fi 6 would not give you more bandwidth or fidelity for the music. HomePod has Bluetooth, but you cannot use it as a Bluetooth speaker.
@tjustinjackson Жыл бұрын
Yeah you’re wrong - you can use Apple TV and output audio to Sonos via Airplay. I used to do this with a stereo pair of Sonos Ones before I upgraded to the Arc.
@lamar310 Жыл бұрын
Wow...this was a bad and lazy sound test. The music selection was horrible...you literally chose the least popular genre of music. 2 new speakers and the songs chosen were over 50 years old lol. That whole blanket over the speakers was just weird

What’s up with the sheet covering the speakers? And why not play music that they know and love, then the “judges” will understand the differences between the speakers.
