I've been waiting for this one! I think what made this episode so good too was up until then the season had been so dark (Opie and Piney). We needed a little bit of humor. (and that smooch Venus gave Jax was apparently totally unscripted.)

Sith, the actor is Walton Goggins. Cool story: He was begging Kurt Sutter, who worked with him on The Shield (?), for a role and Kurt said because he was too recognizable, the only way he'd get a role on SoA was if he had a wig and tits and Goggins was like "Deal! Sign me up!" I love that you're enjoying Venus - she's a blast!

I love the fact Walton was on location for Justified in New Orleans and practiced walking in high heels on cobblestone streets. Also that the actor who played Bobby actually has the implants Venus wore for the show hanging on a wall in his house.

When I first saw this episode, I had not even heard of Walton Goggins, so I didn't know who the actress was. I actually thought, how much guts does it take to appear in this show as a trans actress because I couldn't believe that prostetic make up could be that good. I still admire Walton for taking on the role and doing it so flawlessly. The best!!

Walton is an amazing actor. And Venus was one of my favorite characters in this series. You can't help but admire and love her. She is stellar. I am enjoying watching others view SOA for the first time. This was and will always be one of my favorite shows. Charlie Hunnam is very underrated and more people should watch his performance as Jax. Period.

If you watch the Shield Walton Goggins was a cop who would use the alias Cleetus VanDamme all the time. On SONs Walton is a transman who uses the alias Venus VanDamme. A lot of the actors from shield came over to SONS and Kurt Sutter (Otto) said only way we could have him on the show is as a woman he joked. The first time the guys got to see him dressed up was in the scene so the reactions are priceless.

I love the Venus character but we technically met her when Opie was tasked to put drugs in her car and she ended up shooting Trammel (the officer SOA had on their payroll) They ended up totally changing the character and actor but when I rewatched I was like "did they just call her Venus!?"

This episode unfortunately introduced the worst character possible, Venus. Who was a forced written in character by the FX Network to appease Woke Activists and Social Justice Warriors. His side storyline ruins the realism and overall quality of the show in the future.
