Imagine finding your missing child in the arms of another, and not screaming and running to grab and embrace your child. This moment shows the depth that Jax's character has, and what he truly feels about himself. What masterful writing.

That's what Jax should have done. Immediately snatched Abel back and left the club for the safety of his family. But instead, Jax was conflicted by his need to save the club and avenge his father. Instead of putting his priorities in order -- protecting his children and later his wife -- Jax prioritized his other family (club and dad) and that choice would ultimately lead to disaster for Jax.

To give you some solace, even though this comment is three years old, think of the length of this scene: Jax is making a serious decision. This is conflicting for Jax as he observes these two angels with his boy. He is making a decision here that is heavy and worth so much to Able, because he knows if Able stays with him it's very likely that Able will end up in all this shit that Jax is in. They even give a homeless girl (who looks a lot like Jax's homeless Angel back home) money, without her knowledge. They are good and humble people. Jax knows what is best for Able. But the episode, the story, has other plans for Jax.

What’s so beautiful about this scene is you can see the series of emotions transition as he continues following them. He starts off concerned and emotional seeing his child in someone else’s arms you can see it in his face. Then you slowly see Jax look surprised almost relieved his baby is in good hands and finally you can see his emotion on his face when he’s stuck between making a tough decision either to take his child back or keep him with the people who will love and protect him forever. Charlie Hunnam did an outstanding job with this scene capturing every emotion so perfectly. It’s so raw and emotional.

One of the best scenes of SOA as it really sums up the internal conflict Jax was having. He felt like perhaps his kid deserved to have a normal life but then again that kid was his own flesh and blood and he wanted to be a father but the live fast die young nature of the biker life wasn't a suitable environment for him.

But the truly organized ones we will stand up when where needed and cooperate when needed. At all other times it's a thin line between life and death when in the same room

This scene made me so mad when I saw it. First of all the whole Ireland plot could’ve been left out of the show for all I care. The whole Ireland story line was ridiculous and then he finally tracked down his son after almost a season just realize his son might be better off without him, but then in the next episode he realizes he does one is son back and hast to go track him down again. Wtf were are the riders thinking? When I first watched the series I noticed a lot of plotholes and story changes so I’m re-watching it a second time and the story makes more sense but this scene still is ridiculous to me. It’s like watching a movie and then at the end you find out the guy was dreaming the whole time and everything that happened didn’t really happen

This was always what roped me right back into this show. After endless dramatic shootouts and ultra-violent moments, these artistic emotional scenes are what made it seem worth watching. You could just tell this scene was very thought out, the song and all. No words, no violence, just people being human.
@MrMultiHillo Жыл бұрын
Even after all these years this scene is still the most hauntingly beautiful I have ever seen. The build up in story, the weighting decision Jax would make after observing, the execution of camera work. Everything I can imagine. Even the song choice (Alesund) that I had to find afterwards and still listen to from time to time so much that I would like to even visit Alesund some day. Just still amazed by this scene. It have gotten even better now that I have kids my own and can just feel the heartbreak of Jax.
@markrenton88832 жыл бұрын
arguably the most heartbreaking scene in SOA for me. Jax watches helplessly as his world of certainties crumble right in front of him as he envisions his son having a better future without him...and it also foreshadows his own future in a way... this is an important moment of the show. There was no better song to describe this moving moment. A big bravo to all those who contributed to this legendary beautiful but sad story... Thanks from France.

I can see Jax's pain, but he also feels some sense of relief because he thinks Abel is safe with loving parents. **Spoiler alert don't look if you don't want spoilers** When Jax finds this couple dead and he lays them down together, it showed that had a lot of respect for them and he was deeply sorry for what happened to them.

This is one of my favorite scenes of the entire series. Scenes like this are what separated SOA from a lot of other tv shows. It's a gritty and brutal tv show, but the family drama is done so well. The show would not have had the impact that it did without it. Jax arc throughout the series is one that will be remembered throughout television history. Jax's kids and the violence around them are the main component of his character transformation and were the driving force of entire series. I'm not in love with the final season, but the character work with Jax was always great and completed his arc.

IMO this scene is the point where Jax 1st realized that the kid can't have a future in the club, and letting him go was the best decision.. Through the next seasons the state he was in here is what he strived for and worked on getting to. Eventually the last episode ends the same way basicly.. So in 7 seasons the same thing and realisation happens twice: here in season 3, where the parents unfortunately gets killed and in s7 where he gives them up, and makes some really hard choices. Great show. My favorite. 10/10.

Could you imagine if the series finale hadn't ended the way that it did? If instead Jax had found peace with the club and left it all to Chibs so that he could get out and live a normal life with Tara and the kids? I could see the brilliance in that ending. The final episode recreated as this scene with the music and all, but instead members of the club are looking on as Jax tends to his kids. I could get teary just thinking about it. I loved the way the series ended, but when I look back to this and all it could have been, I start to wish that Jax could have just been a father and left Charming with Tara.
