Each time I watch the series again, I find parts I missed. Gemma actually 'accuses' Tara of not doing 'enough' to keep 'the Irish' from taking Able. and Jax pushes her away, supposedly to protect her, but I agree with her that it seems he blames her!! What a jerk! When the whole time, as so often in this series, Gemma has gone off the rails and created a situation that as 'an old lady' she shouldn't have. Going after Zobell's daughter 1st got Tara a broken nose and that was white washed. The second time around, it got Abel kidnapped, and no one EVER suggests to Gemma that she doesn't know HER place and like Tig (when he mows down Popes daughter) causes the club a whole pile of crap that didn't need to happen. Tara pretty much took the blame for the 'guadie hottie' getting killed, but Gemma actually did that killing also.

Well she doesn’t do much when Abel is abducted, that is true. It does make more sense when you learn she was pregnant and she knew it but it still looked odd that she just stood there I mean she was supposed to be this kids mom, even the prospect got killed trying to stop Hayes and she doesn’t even have so much as a black eye to show for it. She is also responsible for the girl being killed I mean she is the idiot who wants to play saint and untie her then turned her back on her that was a stupid move if I ever saw one. The guys respect and love for Gemma was hard earned and one that existed for a long time, she held that club in the palm of her hand because she loved it, respected it and did everything for it unlike Tara who always looked down at it over the tip of her upturned nose but still wasn’t above using it when it suited her like when she threatened Margaret. Gemma did some twisted things for sure but she was way more than just an old lady, and Tara never actually acted like one, let alone a good one, except when it benefitted her personally so there’s a world of difference between the 2 women.

@@xMiaaaaaaa Abel was abducted as the end result of Gemma going after Zobell's daughter and being outsmarted by the FBI agent. If that kind of action is your idea of Gemma's great actions as an 'old lady'...not mine. It put a whole lot of trouble in motion for the club, when in fact, the club already had voted to kill them all and would have accomplished it without any help from Gemma. Not seeing what attempting to jump an IRA member would have gotten Tara, other than knifed through like half sack, or shot and killed. Had that happened, the club would have had NO idea who took Abel or where to look for him; It might have even made the IRA POS knife the baby. I will never give credit to Gemma for actions 'not her place' to take care of, causing way more harm than help as an 'old lady'. The whole damned story revolves around John Teller's women that can't keep their noses out of business. Tara kept the letters to herself. It was Gemma who set that whole mess in motion just to cover her own azz, she didn't want Jax to find out she was complicit in John's death. In the mean time Tara was Jax's old lady, supporting his decisions, actually trying to help the club by doing things FOR the club, sanctioned BY the club.
