thats what i did, after i watched a couple of videos. i found a spot not far from the spot on this video. then i used kelvin to do most of the gathering. 6 log holders. i filled the rock and stick holders myself, then went to the printer. picked up rope on the way. got back and set kelvin to fish, made the drying rack. dropped a bunch of trees, then started and finished a cabin. face away from where you want to drop the tree, chop till stamina is half way then go on the other side of the tree and chop so it drops where you want it. tree falls faster that way

You don’t have to always go to your backpack either you can also just assign a key while hovering over the thing you wanna quick equip

Mutants can use doors now... have you found a way to keep them out of the base? The defensive wall, they come through door. Might aswell not have a wall at all lmao.

Build on a shoreline, no door just swim around the wall and cut the top of the logs so they can't climb the wall working for me so far, the mutha fukers tried me and were destroying my drying racks, they no longer have access to my drying racks and don't forget to set traps their cheap and effective, the shoreline next to the raft with the pistol is perfect meds spawn at the radio with the dead merc easy start/aka cannon mode

Pro tip: Don't throw away your rotten meats, if you cook them over the fire it wont damage you at all (not sure if this will work on hard mode or custom) Edit: This is probably not supposed to be in the game so expect the devs to fix it soon.. or not

I've been playing since it came out and not once have I seen my Kalvin chop a tree. He will only pick up logs I've chopped. If I haven't chopped any logs he will nod to say he will get logs then he just sits around or builds random fires.

Thats strange, he does chop trees for me. Try saving and reloading your world. Maybe he's bugged? He prefers to pick up logs over chopping trees so if you are always chopping, he will probably just pck them up. Do something else and he's going to chop as well!

If its anything like the last game, theres mutant patrols all around the closer you are to the center the more chances a patrol will stop by to say hi.

Is the game as unrealistic as 1 on hard? Played 1 on hard with friends and while it was fun I was still annoyed at times that I need to hit some basic enemy without Armor 20x with a sword while he can 2 shot me with his fists somehow Seemed like we get way better modern weapons this time but I was wondering if they reduce your melee damage as much as in 1 to make it artificially hard again

Like you seen at the start, you can customise your difficulty. For example lower enemy health and armour , but keep damage recieved high.

I had more success respawning at another location when I rebooted the game. Sometimes it felt like I got at the same place a 100 times while it should be 'random'

I used Kelvin once. I told him to clear the area. Decided to cook some raw meat while he did. Kelvin dropped a tree on me.

If you leave it on long enough it'll look spoiled but as soon as you eat or pick it up it goes back to cooked, not sure if it's a bug or not

The work around I have found, build a rope bridge over your defensive wall, on the outside have a climbing rope up to the rope bridge, ramp on the inside of your fort

been playing for a couple of hours now, and already dont know whats the point of the game, like why build a base, it doesnt protect you from the mobs, you almost looking to protect your base from the mobs, and why need a base at all, a tent is good for saving and sleep and a campfire for food, its not that theres much needed for that base at all, like a craft table? or an oven?, or a anvil to craft weapons? I mostly like games like this, but don,t know with this one, and the mobs come to destroy your base even if your not there, makes it even more annoying, and respawn in the see or in a base full of mobs to die instantly again is not that great also, many flaws and not much to do,... what am i missing here?

Of course there is! Grow seeds, dry snacks an have a safe place to spend the night. Probably the best place to start with when attempting to survive on an island ^^

​@@04AMofficial My Problem is that the base is pretty much undefendable. By the time you made a decent base the next Mutant will just rip it right apart. I think early on exploring is much more crucial. Get weapons, do animal homicide, find the laboratories. From my experience the devs really didn't want us to just sit down at one spot for too long.

Well, we all have different ideas when playing a Survival game, mine is 95% about building, crafting and survival in general, while I only care 5% about the 'Storyline' (isn't that was survival games are for? XD)
