Not tiny. Looks nice though. 20-70 G is probably the better travel lens for most.

It’s a no brainer, I just sold all my Sony lens and prepare to afford only 1 lens for my ZV-E1 as a hobbyist shooting video, this is the only one I’ll get. As I’m writing here now, I am still waiting for the release of this lens

24-50mm G and an 85mm f1.8 are all I need for traveling. Cover up to 127.5mm with APS-C mode on the A7RV.

Aslong as you don't travel to hot places as the G weather sealing isn't like a GM and fogs internally in humid conditions! Watch Tonys review.

@@SPDTDL only if you're dumb enough to go from ice cold air-con to outside humidity and cause condensation, this will happen to a GM too, and damage your camera internals

Definitely picking one of these up as my travel/daylight lens. 24,35, and 50mm are my most used primes and I generally shoot F4-F8 for dof. I’ll probably take an 85 f1.4 with me to catch detail shots and low light when I’m walking around.

I was looking for some kind of small and compact travel lens for the A7cII and was torn between this lens and the 20-70 f4. After comparing both lenses at a local camera store I decided to buy the 24-50. The reasons: size and weight! 20-70 sounds better but 24-50 will cover about 80 percent of my photography. So I decided on the smaller lens. And the first photos don’t disappoint. Seems to be a great lens!

So I have the 24-70 gmii that I use more on my a7rv. I also have an a7cii and want a smaller lens for everyday and travel. This is perfect but now it’s 2.8 vs a wider range! I have no idea what’s more valuable in the long run!

Tough choice between 20-70mm f4.0 ($1098) vs 24-50mm f2.8 ($1098). Sidney had a great "Perfect" review of that lens about a year ago. The lens that is losing ground is the excellent, yet large and heavy, 24-105 f4.0 ($1298). The two newer lenses are much lighter and have an aperture ring where the 20-105 does not. I have the 20-70, it's light and very nice lens to use with the new A7C bodies.

It is a tough choice indeed. I just bought my a7c2 last month and last week experienced epic failures with my 35mm prime lens on my hike in Sedona. Im debating which lens i should get since then 😂

@@visiblevoyageit's half the weight of the sigma. I love big sturdy long zooms etc but I don't like carrying them around all day especially if I'm just out having fun / travelling or even shooting street. This lens makes sense in that case

Hi Sidney! I am limited due to various disabilities, so I had to choose the kit lens for telephoto work. Wish the max aperture was better than f4, but I also got a prime G lens at 24mm/ f2.8. When you face limitations, you have to work with what you’ve got.

Tamron 20-40mm 2.8 might be a better perfect lens for traveling covering anything of vlogging, family photo, landscape, etc shots. It could have been bigger and heavier but Sony 20-50mm 2.8 would have been sweet.

Would you recommend this lens (Sony 24-50mm) or the Sigma 28-70mm/Tamron28-75mm lens for an all-in-one, compact lens? I know the Sony is a tiny bit smaller and shorter than the others and you get the extra Sony in-body features (focus breathing compensation, etc.), but you also lose 20ish extra mm of reach and it is a few hundred dollars more. Just wanting an extra opinion!

It is not perfect for travel its a mistake sony need to admit, the 20-70 now is the travel lens, you will come back home with more stories, Sony need to introduce a light/small 24-120 F2.8-5.6
