How do you feel about the lens not having stabilization? I shoot sports handheld and the F2 is great for indoors but not having stabilization for that price point worries me

Well, this is why I feel this lens is more for photography than video. The 24-70mm GM II is the better choice for that!

Ironically, this might be the review that gets me to buy the lens, even though Sidney says it’s not for him. I mean how is this not for filmmakers? A constant f2 zoom lens seems perfect for video. And look at that demo footage! Gorgeous rendering!

Unless you are shooting high burst- the 35-150 2/2.8 would be better I would think. 24 would have been much better. I’ll stick to my primes

I think it’s perfect for wedding videographers. My personal shooting style is all handheld swapping between 35/50mm primes. The weight of the lens is also welcome to compensate micro jitters.

It was a good decision. The Canon 28-70 F2 is literally the only reason why some photographers have stuck with Canon. It's Sony leveling the playing field.
