I bought this with the camera. My honest opinion. Its good enough to do most of what you need to do. But the issue is the lacking f stop, starting at 3.5 just isnt close to a 2.8 or 1.8. And the reach on the zoom is really limiting for taking it out on a sight seeing trip. I think if it came with a 24-200 f1.8 - 2.8 range of stops. Would be the best lense ever. But the price would be insane. I think the Tamron 35 - 150 is a better option for most people. Just the price is really up there. The Tamron 24 - 70 is just a better version of the kit lense. All that said, dont be worried about having this kit lenes. Its great bang for buck and will do most anything you need. Only buy another lenes if you really need the lower f stops like 1.8 or 2.8 for the nicer background blur.

I totally agree; I tested it because I wanted to show how good it is actually for beginners; yes and so agree about the aperture; mostly i use my sigma 16-28mm F2.8 for talking heads or as my Allrounder the Sony 24-105mm F4, during the day it works fine and also the background blur is okay when you get not so close to your subject, you can see that lens review from my trip to Japan as well. I also agree with the tamrons, but the downsize is then the weight, when you use it specifically for some situations I think this would be the right choice! All the best and cya around 👍

For 4k stabilized videos, photos, an excellent focal length, if you could have only one budget lens that could do it all, what would it be?

What were the settings for stabiliziation on the camera for the videos, or did you all put them to "off" and did it afterwards in davinci?

@@fc_key I always keep the settings on OSS and Camera Active ON and try to be very steady with my movements, then when it is still too shaky I will use an additional stabe in DaVinci in post; thanks for watching and your comment 👍

@ so you set them to active mode what crops a small part of the image right? Just got my A7IV yetserday and was a little confused because found the stabilization not so great when walking…

@ ​​⁠yes it does in 4k 24/25/30fps only a small crop; I highly suggest not to walk with the camera a lot; you could get away with using catalyst browse then afterwards; check out my sigma video there I showed a vlogging sequence where I used it

Hi, thank you so much, yes I recorded everything you see handheld except the talking head shots for them I used a small lightweight travel tripod. Shaky scenes I stabilized afterwards in DaVinci resolve; you can see this how i make it in my DaVinci Beginner Tutorials 😊 Hope this info helps 🤞

You are right but they saved them they showed a lot of footage how they care and do it and they stop doing it, all orcas you saw were born there and they don’t bring new ones in.
