Sony 35mm vs Viltrox 35mm - Best option for Sony Full Frame?

Great review Jay! For those on a budget, the Viltrox seems pretty damn solid. I got to say though, the Sony 35 1.8 is one of my favorite lenses I've ever owned so it's a tough comparison. It's sharp, it's light, the autofocus is quick, and the bokeh is really nice.

price is gonna be the only diff. that is a huge gap for the performance you get. if you use it professionally sony will pay for itself but for hobby viltrox is good enough

Thanks Dylan and I agree 👊 I love my Sony 35mm, so it was a tuff showdown! The Sony broke a sweet for a minute, but proved to be the overall better lens which makes sense based on price point. With that being said, The Viltrox is definitely a solid option for those on a budget! Thanks for the comments and great points, Jay

On some lenses more than others yes, but overall the newer Viltrox lenses are very quiet when the focus transition speed is fairly slow.

I think most users like the SONY 35MM F1.8 FE MONTURA E - SEL35F18F and it's quite affordable. But I'm having doubts about another lens I found and if I may select another one. I can spend more if the quality deserves it (Im not sure if the GM series deserves de 1.500 or if Sony is working on a new model....). These are my options: ZEISS LOXIA OBJETIVO 35/2,0 E SONY (I found for around 700$); SONY SEL35F14Z DISTAGON T FE 35/1.4 ZA (1.000 euros); SONY 35MM F1.8 FE MONTURA E - SEL35F18F (550$); SONY FE 35MM F1.4 GM SEL35F14GM (1.500$). .... Hello, and I would go for the Sony FE 35mm f/1.8 Lens which is what I use daily: geni.us/xFVSF If you want better than that, the GM lens would be a great option as well. The Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 Z is also an awesome lens if you can find a mint used copy...

It would work for that, but usually a wider angle lens is preferred for astro. It would depend on how much sky you want in the scene at one time.

I bought viltrox lens. AF 35/1.8 FE, Focus comes within 40 cm distance, blurs even if it goes back or forward by one feet. If something is placed horizontally for a long time, it takes focus and then distant persons are seen. Tell me Brother what is the solution please 🙏🙏🙏

@@sarikaravibadisa1356 I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean exactly? If you want more of the scene to be in focus, you will need to stop down the lens to f/5.6 or f/8 for example, especially when at the minimum focus distance like you are describing.
