A9ii has an option to close shutter when changing lens.

Idk why all Sony cameras over $3k don’t offer that. I get dust on my lens nearly every time I have to change a lens outdoors

There is an update where the curtain does close on the a9ii check your firmware

I'm not in the Sony system but enjoyed your review. I especially enjoyed the shots of the osprey and the bald eagle. That was cool!!!

Awesome video! I have a Sony a7r3 for perched birds, landscape, and the a9 for birds in flight! I use the 200-600 on both! I'm happy! I would love to have and a1. Maybe buy yours in five years!!!!!😳😳😳🤣

I went with the a7iv the "baby a1". Has bird eye af ,33 mp , and shared bionz xr processor. Its a great hybrid for video too as well. I wasnt sure if i was more into stills or video and it was my first full frame camera. The cost did it for me though at only 2.5k. found out i love stills more than video and love taking wildlife pictures more and more. So now i want an a1 or maybe wait for a mark ii a1
@davidn81172 жыл бұрын
I agree with FRS 86, if you want a cheaper back up to the A1, the A7iv is a great option.

To be honest I hadn't had any issue changing lens with my A9 in every weather condition, so I think it isn't so matter the sensor "saver" of the A1. For the rest, interesting video, as well as the osprey attack!!! Great!

I've had my sensors cleaned and they def get dirty. Sometimes I don't notice until I'm at a high fstop and look at the blue sky areas of images. We couldn't believe we got the osprey action on camera!
@GiuseppeGessa2 жыл бұрын
@@CattailChronicles indeed it's not a big deal having some spot in the sensor. So far I cleaned my A9's sensor only once. Have a nice day 👍

In the real world, it simply comes down to sensor sizes and the implications & advantages of that. Both are great cameras. The white balance on the A9ii is slightly on the warm side. Bird AF is not always that useful in my experience, but nice to have. I get closer to my subjects when using the A9ii and put a 1.4x tc on my 600mm f4. The bottom line - you get what you pay for.

I'm seriously considering the A7iv for my next camera purchase. 33mpx, similar focusing system to the A1. Downside is 10fps but, honestly, my current camera body does 10fps and I can't say I've ever missed a shot because I needed a faster frame rate. Just have to check it out like you said, rent one.
@CattailChronicles2 жыл бұрын
That camera does sound intriguing. Let us know if you try it.

@@CattailChronicles I sure will. We have a trip to the Smoky Mountains in September to, hopefully, catch the early Elk rut and do some landscape work. I won't be thinking about a new camera until after that. New camera on a trip usually does not equal great photos.

A7iv has a slow non-stacked sensor. For fast moving subjects the rolling shutter will be a problem
@JeffandLeslie2 жыл бұрын
@@BelarusianInUk I will have to check that before buying. I will likely rent for a week first. I believe the rolling shutter issue is only on electronic shutter. Mechanical shouldn't be a problem but something to check out first. Thanks for the reminder.
