You have been so great with these a6000 instructions. When you achieve Eye Autofocus, does the indicator triangle come on and then go off, or is it supposed to stay illuminated until the shot is taken? Thanks again.

Very helpful. I wish I could make a6000 focus reliably indoors. I find that I need to limit myself to fast f/1.8 zooms, shooting wide open, to get it to focus close to reliably. Firmware updates have helped a bit but still resort to DSLR indoors.
@BradZChef8 жыл бұрын
+Art Altman Ah! The 600 lb gorilla in the room! Mirrorless fans don't want to hear it; but, with the current technology DSLR and DSLT cameras have an advantage focusing in low light (until you get the A7S...) So, what can you do? If you already have a DSLR or DSLT camera you may want to hang onto it for a few years. If the A6000 is your only camera there are a couple of things you can do. Two options that come to mind are 1) Use your cell phone flashlight (or other light source) to illuminate your subject so you can see it clearly, then use manual focus, turn off the light and snap! 2) Grab a couple of speedlights and set up multiple bounce flashes (see my video on off-camera flash). Then, you can mount a little LED video light to your camera's hot shoe and the camera will use that light to auto-focus. When the flashes fire, they'll over ride the light and shadows the video/focus light produces. Often what you choose boils down to workflow. It's been said, "If your only tool is a hammer, then every job must be a nail" Our cameras are our tools. The A6000 is kind of like a Swiss Army Knife! It does a LOT of things really well. But, if you want to "get the shot" you need to know its weaknesses, not JUST its strengths. You can always beg, borrow, steal or rent other gear from time to time for special situations!

I'd suggest the Light Room / Photo Shop combo. It's $10/month. But! It's widely used and there are SO many great free KZbin video showing you how to use them. It's rare to have a problem with a photo that you can't do a google or KZbin search that quickly returns many options for info or videos to show you exactly what to do. Also- be patient. This is a marathon, not a sprint. It can take a while or even years but you'll get it! Enjoy the journey!

I am a owner of sony a6000 and a7R which adpator should I buy for which camera LAEA-3 or LAEA-4, my a-mount lens are SonySAL70-400G, Tamron 70-200mm 2.8, Tamron 18-270mm 3.5, Tamron 28-75mm 2.8........I shoot Athletics, Footy and Portaits.
@BradZChef8 жыл бұрын
Technically the laea-3 supports auto exposure (but not auto focus!) and the laea-4 supports auto exposure AND auto-focus. Which one for you? In my humble opinion- neither. I've worked along side David LaRochelle who shoots an A7rii with the LAEA-4 to focus his a-mount sony/zeiss 135mm. The lens will technically auto focus, but it is so slow that David just focuses manually. Also- below f/13 Sony only uses contrast focus (not phase detect) so the lens just sits there and hunts. Word on the street is that with the A7Rii and the A6500 there have been some improvements so that the adapted lenses will actually behave like native lenses, particularly with the Sigma mc-11 and the newer Metabones adapters. Since you have the A6000 and A7r your cameras may not perform the way you'd expect. If you really want to go the "adapted lens" route either rent the adapter for a week and shoot with it yourself or at least buy from a store that has a 30 day "no questions asked full refund" policy so you don't end up getting stuck with something.

I'm not sure what the "Best" is but... I'm using a Sandisk Extreme Pro, 64 GB, 95MB/s SD XC-l, U-3 Class 10. Wow! You'll want at least 64GB cards to enable the XAVCS video format. I'm told there are a lot of fake cards being sold so to buy from a reputable dealer. If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
