I used the same lens it came with right out of the box. I didn't edit or enhance the video. It's how it records! That's why I left canon for Sony cams. Canon is still a Camera to consider, I just love the compact and performance of these little cams. Crazy good.

Most DSLRS and mirrorless cameras have a set limit of 30 minutes of recording. It's like a universal law within cameras; IDK, but it is.

Matthew Fabian I loved this a6000. If you don't care about not having a touchscreen you'll be perfectly fine. I'm not saying it's the best camera ever. But I will say in my opinion it is an awesome compact featured cam. It's getting cheaper priced but not cheap on quality and performance! I say go play with it at your local store. If you buy it, and somehow don't like it, you should have a certain time period to return it!

GX7 has better, more varied lens selection. If you have the cash, the Panasonic 42.5mm F1.2 is a world class prime lens. The 25mm F1.4 is a great all round lens, also very fast. Sony has no answers for any of these lenses. Sony lenses are very good, but not special. Start with the lenses you'd like to use, then buy the camera that goes with the lens. GX7 also has a touch screen which is very useful.

I love these sony cams over canon, but i haven't tried Panasonic yet and I want to expand my knowledge with more and more camera quality and experience to get a better recommendation. This is probably one of the better a6000 reviews I've seen. Nobody really talked about the cellphone to camera functionality, that was cool as shit I didn't know I could tap my phone on the camera and have it open play memories, I had always been opening up the app manually through the phone. Even if you can't take video remotely it still is good as a viewfinder.

Really good review !!! I just bought one (A6000) and it works fine with 24 mp. Many autofocus mode, many in built scenery types, scenery detection mode on Intelligent and intelligent Superior mode are amazingly easy for taking excellent images even if you are not a pro. AF is really FAST and captures everything. The sound of the 11 shot per sec is F...good. I was glad to see your explanation about video i didnt check yet since i was motsly using Gopro4Black which is really different but amazing too May be you could have shown more of the tuning function of the cam but the comparison with nex5R was cool too. Last point on A6000 is that is light and easy in hand. Only difference with other big brothers is that its NOT a full frame sensor so here is the point. Comparison A6000 / A7R or A7S or A7 V2 would be interesting For excellent video many pro may also use the GH4 LUMIX, Top is supposed to be CANON 5D MK3 (Full frame) for images but noting to compare with A6000 in terms of weigh and storage so it dépends in fact what you like to do and carry out during your travels The A6000 is delivered with a 16 - 50 mm AF ( eq 24 - 75mm Reflex) and i also use the 55 - 205 mm (80 - 300 Reflex) whic is really NOT heavy compare to my old big zooms that where almost needing a suitcase to carry them. Explanation is that the A6000 is composite metallic and plastic so muchless heavier than a A7R. A600 is a very good client for drone users since weight is very important. In your Pocket it also does !!!! Price is also light compare to high quality results and very fast AF sensor

@@Specket You can by using the hot shoe and Sony proprietary lav mic. However, you can't use any after market set up for audio. Personally, being that it's now 2023 and Sony has multiple updated options in their 6000 series cameras (and all of them now have external mic inputs and 4K) I wouldn't consider an a6000 unless it was super cheap and I had no need to record videos.

I had the predecessor to the a6000, the NEX-6. What I liked about the camera: quick, easy handling, compact size and light weight. Lots of AF focus points. What I didn't like: slooow buffer even when taking single shots, poor low-light AF capability, excessive noise in images at ISO's above 1600, nearly useless built-in flash. Funky SD card loading arrangement that caused me to destroy one of my SD cards beyond repair. I wonder how much of an improvement the a6000 is over the NEX-6? The two cameras look so similar.

Great review. So tempted - if only it had a flip down/side screen!! Not great for sit down videos, I guess the app helps this situation though...
