Just bought an A7RIV & trust me when I say this , the review was super helpful. I don't understand why someone would dislike this. Thanks tony !

The reason I gave it a thumbs down was that the write speed on those SD cards (90mb) is crap. I did mention this soon after the video came out but they still kept recommending them. And more importantly for them, making money from them.

Great job! Been a pro for 38 years, and digital photographer since it started, almost day 1 with 1.4 megapixel camera. Been a canon shooter from the beginning. This a7R4 gives me a headache. The way you explain it makes it now so easy to understand. Not so overwhelming! Thank you! You should do this for a living. ;-)

A friend of mine decided to become a wedding photographer and bought a high-end DSLR. He was intimidated by the (then) printed manual. He asked, "How am I going to learn all this?" I responded, "You're not. When you need to do something you don't know how to do, look it up. You will have learned something. Over time, you'll learn everything YOU need to know to run the camera. 80% of the manual will remain unread."

Thanks so much for this extensive manual. A small update of something I saw on a different video: before reviewing pictures, enable touch (trashcan button), then review. Double tap the screen and wait a second on 2 will zoom in maximum. You can now even touch-drag the view accross the entire image. Zoom in & out does not work with two fingers like a smartphone but use the 'regular' zoom buttons. Double tap again to fully zoom out again. I think this is pretty handy but would like more smartphone-like touch operation for especially the menus. This function at least works using the latest firmware 1.20

Tony, thank you, this save me a ton of time. One thing I think you might want to update, if you want to shoot RAW to one card and JPEG to another, you have to have to change your "File Format" to "RAW & JPEG", otherwise it will just record one of the types.

Tony, THANKS FOR THE INCREDIBLE VIDEO! You are my FIRST stop for any question on photography. I would like to add a side note on the Sony A7RIII and IV, I had them both, and still have the IV. I learned this the hard way ( is there any other way of learning). The little piece of plastic that covers the Shoe, CARRY EXTRAS! If it is humid outside and that piece of plastic is missing chances are REALLY good that you will get an error message on your camera and it will not work, AT ALL! I was in Norway, on a rainy misting day. I had lost the plastic cover for the shoe. I didn't really think much of it, it's just a little piece of plastic - RIGHT? NOPE! I was hand-carrying my camera in a camera rain bag thinking it would be better than letting the rain hit it. After shooting for about an hour, I got an error message (don't remember what it said) and the camera locked up. So I spent the next few hours trying to figure out what was wrong. Finally tracked it down to NOT HAVING A SHOE COVER ON THE CAMERA! I was in Oslo, Norway at the time and found a camera store that had them in stock. I took the camera in the store, turned it on and the error message was still there. The guy in the store got the plastic shoe cover and put it on, ERROR GONE! I would not have thought that little piece of plastic could shut down a camera BUT IT WILL! I now carry a few of them with me at ALL TIMES. It happened to me a few months later after having a flash on the camera. I learned my lesson!
