I totally agree upgrade in all areas apart from sensor size, focus is insane, reviewing it currently from a wildlife perspective on my channel

Did high iso performance improve over the original a9? Some say it got better because of the new processor. Others say it’s only visible in jpg. Others say high iso image quality is exactly the same.

Is the buffer capacity and speed of clearing the buffer when using two uhs 2 cards shooting raw, faster then the original A9? and if so, by how much? The A9 would take roughly a minute to completely clear a full buffer of shots

Do you think the A9II is an upgrade to the A7 iii (non R version), Any guess if we will see the A7 IV (non R version) and a what if time frame ?

He probably doesn't need to talk about his politics here...I almost pulled the trigger and subscribed. See what I did there? I didn't subscribe.

I have to admit that the Mark II was kind of disappointing to me because I was expecting a bigger jump. But, that being said, this is still a great camera and overall improvement over what was one of the best camera ever. Nothing better right now for sports/wildlife, especially if you take into account the size and weight of the comparable Canon/Nikon DSLRs.

Nice intro! Question I got the a7iii and the a7riii for the same price. Which one would you keep?

What if you shoot just portraits and landscapes? Worth the upgrade from the R3?
@DinoChuah

not worthy for the upgrade for portraits and landscape. R3 is better.

Can anyone say if the image quality has improved due to new processors, maybe less noise, etc. I was going to pull the trigger on A7R4 but the high noise and the weak focusing in low light and the huge files, kind of makes me lean towards the A9ii if someone could comment on IQ. Thanks.

Same here. From what I’ve read the 9ii is thought to have better IQ than the a9, though it can’t be proven. There’s a thread on FredMiranda.com about it. Seems to me if you like post processing R4 is for you. If you want best possible results out of the camera, the 9ii. The other considerations are which sports as table tennis needs one lense and soccer needs 2 or arguably 3 bodies to cover the whole field. The R4 can crop on the fly and then in post, so maybe 2 R4’s covers what 3 9ii’s would? Something like that anyway. But, the noise... how good are the lights? And what good is the range if you miss the moment? Here are a few links along these lines: Lense size/different sports: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3PYY3l9h61kaKc 20fps arguably not enough (8:45) kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYTdm6KiZaaIa6M Do you know if R4 in crop/APSC mode loses any of the noise? Pretty sure it doesn’t. Another thing to consider is R4 can’t switch from full to crop until buffer is empty, which could really matter. Here’s the a9 vs a9ii buffer performance (and proof fast cards are worth getting): kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqS9Z39nj9-mrM0 A7R4 vs 3 buffer comparison (note these are full buffer recovery not 5 seconds worth) kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5OboGWwrtpja6c

Great content and I confirm 100%! I have the A7RIV and the A9II and I use my A7RIV only for Landscape with my 16-35 2.8 GM. For nearly all other Jobs the A9II is fantastic and I love this camera! I don't regret the update from the A9. Greetings from Germany, Enno

Good video! Can I just ask... was I the only one feeling really anxious that the sensor was left uncovered all the way through? 😂 Sorry, no reflection on the video, like I said, I enjoyed it but just had to put that out there!

A little too gushy IMO. Bird & wildlife shooters really could use more resolution, and they could have put Canon & Nikon in the grave if they had done the following: 1) Increase the resolution a little. Not to something super high, but even something in the 28-32 MP range, even if they had to reduce the FPS a tiny bit, or work on keeping the FPS the same as the a9. 2) Switch the terrible EVF to the one found in the a7R4. 3) Change the memory cards to an appropriate card, like the CFExpress. SDII cards in this body is ridiculous. These three things - in addition to the other "easy" improvements they made - would have made it the beast that all the rumors were suggesting it was going to be, and these three things they did not do are why legions of people are disappointed with the II.

Suggestions: 1. Shorten the new intro to 3 seconds. 2. Duck the music before you start talking.
