Wow what an amazing tv i still using my Sony bravio from 2012. Never had any problems with it and the picture and sound are amazing for a 1080p. When i do upgrade i will definitely stick with sony thankyou for the review.

The lean, that you pointed out, is the reason why you'd back mount (stand in the front of the TV). It stands straight up when mounted that way.

The position of the stand needs to be addressed because placing the stand in the back makes the TV lean slightly forwarded - by design. Placing the stand in the front makes the TV screen straight up and down. I believe the SONY engineers provided this leaning back a bit as an enhancement to help eliminate reflection.

This is what you pay extra for but a TV does not need to be thick and bulky to last well. Besides, don't act like Sony is doing everything right when they can't even put 4x HDMI 2.1 on their flagships for 2 years straight when others like LG have been doing it since 2019. If you use ARC/eARC you actually only get ONE HDMI 2.1 and that is downright insane since 99% that buys a A80J, A90J, A80K or A95K will be using a proper sound system along with it. Also, Sony again gimped the WiFi to only 5 or 802.11ac which won't support WPA3 ever, so your home router will forever be gimped and run in low security mode. Just saying. LG and Samsung both uses 802.11ax aka WiFi6 which fully supports WPA3, is much faster and has much better range + delivers 4x HDMI 2.1. S95B even supports 144 Hz for PC gaming. So yeah, no TV is perfect, and many will prefer S95B over A95K. Many will even prefer LG G2 or C2 over those as well. Depends on the person, it's all great TVs. If you have to pay twice for A95K compared to S95B then you are going to be disapppointed for sure. It's the exact same Samsung QD-OLED panel and S95B and A95K can look pretty much identical for 99% of the time. S95B gets brighter than A95K on average in both SDR and HDR.

@@lort6022 I never acted like Sony was doing everything right?😂 just given my experience with the s95b ...I never mentioned lg nor do they have a qd oled available, lg is great if you like there panels but im a movie lover so content consumption comes first ,gaming is secondary hence why I use a projector as my main so lg does not appeal to me in terms of oleds atm there still using old gen tech . But I would definitely rate there customer service higher & component quality higher then Samsung. for obvious reasons I don't need more then 2 hdmi 2.1 ports. And your last point regarding the Sony Vs Samsung brightness is false. But I don't blame you despite lots of false reports hdtvtest has since debunked those That being said I still bought a s95b and very much enjoyed the set but like I said have had to return 2 ,one for a bent panel and the replacement broke 3 times needing different components replaced in a 4 month period untill Samsung said they wouldn't cover anymore repairs ..luckily my retailer accepted to replace or credit refund

Great review. For what you pay all ports should be HDMI 2.1 though and they aren't. But overall a beautiful OLED by Sony and being a Master series tv and for the price it should be.

Going from a 77 inch to a 65 or 55 inch TV is NOT an upgrade, no matter what TV it is, especially as the A80J is already a high end TV. I can guarantee that you will instantly regret it. People typically upgrade to a bigger TV except there is a problem with space in which case people just stick with the same size when buying a new TV.

@@gbej1 Solid point you made. Nah I would never go any lower than 77" for the living room. As a matter of fact I want a bigger screen. The 83" A90J or LG G2 would strike a good balance of size. I honestly purchased the A80J oled on impulse at costco. I should have done more research. I will wait till the qd-oled prices cool down for the 77" + screens.

Good reflection handling but rtings said S95B had better. Personally I could not care less about audio on a TV, since I am using a proper sound system with ARC/eARC, sadly the ARC port on Sony is shared with the HDMI 2.1 which only have 2 total, meaning one HDMI 2.1 port left. That is just a stupid design Sony... However not a complete dealbreaker but Im learning towards S95B for better gaming features, 144 Hz support, higher brightness overall and less price. We will see. Sony seriously needs to update their dated chip and connectivity + WiFi solution, they are 2+ years behind Samsung and LG on this. My 2019 LG OLED has 4x HDMI 2.1 full bandwidth ports for god sake. How can a flagship Sony from 2022 have only 2 with one LOST when you actually use ARC? Sony, think!

@@allthingstech you are right about the Sony A95K being a bit better, but I went for the S95B 65inch which I order directly from Samsung education website and got it for £1444. At that price couldn’t pass on it plus I got both the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5 so I save myself a hell lot of money, plus the quality of the S95B is so good I am not missing out on much really. They also gave me free galaxy watch worth £345 for free.

C1 is way better for the money than A95K. You are paying top notch for the last few percentage as always. C2 can be had for half the price of A95K now on sale (both are, and still C2 is almost half the price). This means you can actually get a 77 inch C2 for the same price as 65 inch A95K on some stores. In most REAL CONTENT that people actually watch, there is barely much difference between the best TVs... Looks so similar

this or the s95b?....ordered the sammy but saw your review with clunky OS. that and the fact it seems quite delicate and a few comments of bends and faults(think tech giant had red screen), and may switch. agree about stand..is it as bright as sammy? room it's going in is bright! other option is neo qled..not as good as good, but goes brighter to combat day viewing and cheaper....just loose the glorious blacks for cinema watching in the evening..so would prefer a qd oled

QN90B is really good for a bright room, just saying, 2500-3000 nits peak is still like 3 times higher than A95K and S95B and you can get 85 inch almost for the same price as 65. I love OLED, and I own 2, but QLED with Mini LED backlight is no joke. They really became good, especially 2nd gen QLEDs Mini LED.

As good as it is the fact that it sits so low is a real issue for anyone with a soundbar or any sort of set top boxes where having a 4-5 inch clearance really helps, also that lean is annoying

Hey, speaking of soundbar. I have wall mounted it at 6 ft. height and it sounds much better. The sound level and clarity is uniform when sitting or standing in the room. Can you do a comparison if soundbar's quality does change with its placement?

I wish all OLED videos would include a SALIENT unboxing caution that I found buried in mouse-print in the manual - too late. The TV must never be placed flat on its back or front when out of the box. There is, however, a 1” square picture, without text, showing this in the “Setup Guide”, but I thought it was a caution against inadvertently letting go of the TV causing it to forcefully flop on the floor. Also, a long held “pet peeve” of mine is that we are inundated with “rules” that fail to give the reason. For example, there was a sign posted on a bridge, “NO DIVING”. The kids involved no doubt thought, “They just don’t want us to have fun!” The water under the bridge was only 5 ft deep. Tragedy. No space to elaborate here about the TV - just Google why. I also wish the placement of the TV on the stand was more detailed. Just where and how do you pick it up properly without damaging it?

Saw my friends S95B last week. Not impressed at all. My 2008 Pioneer buried it image wise which was very disappointing as that means OLED has not improved since 2013. Something badly wrong with how OLED looks. Predator 1080p SDR looked shocking.

@@DeterminedFC I went into the 2 point grey scale to try and loose the green tinge, it was also far to red. But what really got me scratching my head was the resolution detail?! Lacked sharpness? Top Gun Marverick looked sharp but looked artificial?? Filmmaker mode looked very bad?? Dark and green? That is never the directors intent. Never. It needs a lots if work to get that image looking as it should. Shame I went round to look with the intention of buy a nice new QD-OLED. 😒
