ive been looking for a apsc zoom that might work on my full frame also .. very interesting .. I like the look of the new Sigma 18-50 My fav still for apsc on full frame as mentioned in your part 1 is my fake Sony 24GM ..the Sigma 16mm F1.4

supposedly the new aps-c sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 has a very large image circle especially at the 12mm focal length it gets to be pretty much the full frame image circle (even in stills mode)

I used the 18-105 on the a7iv when it was first out. Strange thing, the stabalization didn't seem to work on full frame. It worked well on my a6400. But it was super shaky on the a7iv. Maybe a firmware bug or something. Sold it. I did try the Sigma 56mm on full frame. The image circle was ok, but the distortion toward the sides was too intense.

Did you use it in full frame or aps-c mode?

It definitely doesn’t behave as you would expect from a native lens, all these old lenses are a notch below something like the 16-35pz. Does work well with dynamic, but it feels like a third party lens. Will try out some newer gen lenses a few weeks later.

@@bijosn both. It was very odd, definitely something wrong. But maybe the firmware update fixed it? I figured they crippled it on purpose as it would be basically cover all your needs for a low price.

@@benjamindover4337 i can understand it not working in FF mode with an aps-c lens but I was not aware that stabalization would not work in apps-c mode. Can you try switch off ibis and only enable lens oss and see if that makes a difference? I also have a few apsc lenses and an a7iv, I can try test that during the weekend

This lens has one of the best oss for Sony. You can walk with it with normal ibis and quite usbale.
