Yes it is. I have 3 Sonys, one this AX700 and 7C and A7s. The AX700 have a very good picture quality. For many reason is affordable like the others modern "cool" hybrid, Foto +video) cameras. I have 2 pieces (AX700) for Multicam Recording in theaters. It is worth the money that does it cost.

I've seen another YT video of the results taken with this AX700 and I can say that I'm not impressed with the stabilization. Like most of yours, I can see micro-jitter (especially at the long end of the zoom). Without sounding rude; I've seen (continually) better from a 1/2.5 sensored Panny at a quarter of the price of the '700. I've really gone off Sony - the results from my own Sony stuff attest to that.

I agree with you! Looking for an upgrade from my ax53 which also experiences micro-jitter when panning and seeing that this camcorder at nearly double the price also does the same is very disappointing.

The micro jitter by long focal length is a basic problem all camcorders. For long focal length is a must to use a heavy tripod. Nothing can a good tripod substitute. I have the Sony A7s what is cost double of the AX700 and have them same jitter problem and rolling shutter. This cause why the digital processor can note enough quickly read out of the data of the sensor. ( Theis cause overheating of the cameras) This is also a basic problem all camcorders, cameras. Only the very expensive cinema cameras are better. I have tried many of camcorders also Panasonic and Canon. All have the some problem why this is a physically/technically problem (limitation) not a specific of Sony.

@@nstheboss Hi! I had too the Sonyax53, this is why I know exactly look like and work the camera. The ac53 have a little sensor, and not so big ( 1Zoll) like the AX700. This is ground why you can see better rolling shutter. But this is the only one fact where the ax53 is better. The AX700 have a better picture quality and possibilities like the ax53. The price of the camcorder is ok, when you see and know the semi profi details this camera have. For example the ND filter! This is a very important workhorse for serious videographer and the possibility set manual the white Balance. The Low Light picture of the AX700 is more better. (Search and look the You Tube video tests, when you don't believe me.). The ax700 is a very good upgrade for the ax53.
