The Mode button also works for the Radio. For FM, it changes between Stereo and Mono. When recording AM radio to cassette, pressing Mode toggles between ISS (Interference Suppress Switch) 1 - 3 a.k.a. Beat Cut/Beat Cancel/Beat/etc.

6B is 2006. this is the older version of the Sony CFD-S70 that seems to be the last one with sony quality and design before they went with a basic two color scheme.

It does not play mp3 discs. It does play CD-RW.

Don;t use the tape player I have two of them and both of them ate my tape up the tapes are TDK D90 but the cd player is perty good for what it is I got my in december of 2008 both of them new for christmans that year.

I've already used the cassette player. Made a few recordings. They sound good. The reason these eat tapes is if the take-up spool gets stuck, since there's no full auto stop on these mechs the tape still passes between the pinchroller and capstan when the spool stops rotating. That's why I like those full auto stop mechs as it's basically focused on the take-up spool, so if that stops rotating the mech stops in a sec or two.

You know? You said the sound is not good because of the small speakers. I bought a used one in goodwill and I compared sound with a Bose Soundlink Color 2 and it is way better quality and balanced sound although the volume is not very very loud in the bose speaker.

I mod mine with a 3 contact - 5 conductors 3.5mm phone jack socket. Tap into TU-L and TU-R. Put a scotch tape to intercept the radio before amp. So when you in radio mode then plug in a BT receiver, you got yourself a BT speaker!!
