How does the Dolby NR work, if it's "automatic"?

It's automatic and for playback only when it prerecorded. I believe prerecorded cassettes with Dolby has some special hole so the deck recognizes it and enable Dolby system.

Gilbert Arciniega I don't know. Minidisc did fairly well worldwide. I still use my MD deck and Walkman.
