Thank you for this, really helpful. Does this process apply to creating and loading custom LUTs with the Alexa?

Unfortunately there's no way to directly load custom Resolve LUTs in to the ALEXA, but there are several tools you can use instead. Arri Look Creator and Arri LUT Generator is an option, but you can also use LiveGrade from Pomfort, or LinkColor from Framewright.

Thank you. What if I want to start my grade from slog2. Since 3D LUT's can only be used when you're shooting sgamut3cine slog3, is there a LUT to convert slog3 to slog2?

+Fabio Yes I suppose, but it would be a bit unusual. You could create a LUT that takes Slog3 to Slog2 then adjust color and contrast from there.

Hi! Thanks for the tut. I have a quick question if you don't mind. Once the LUT has been applied to the camera will the colour be burned into the footage permanently or in a non-destructive way, still giving us access to the RAW SGamut3 footage? Thanks.

Hey Luke The LUT can only be burned into the recorded SxS footage if you set that up in the camera menu. By default the LUT will not be burnt into the SxS footage. RAW footage, with the Sony R5 recorder, will never have any LUT burnt into it. The LUT will just be attached as Metadata. Andy

Thank you, Andy. I've read that to apply a MLUT the camera has to be set to SLog. Is this still the case or can the MLUT be used with SGamut too?

Luke Wheldon Hey Luke. You need to be in CineEI mode to apply a LUT. CineEI mode puts you a SGamut mode always. I recommend using SLog3+SGamut3.Cine. Andy

Thanks for the help guys. We've decided to go back to Red Dragon but these tips will come in handy for future work on F55
