This looks so much sharper and less dramatic than all the other Remus footage I'm wondering what Fstop did you shoot at I'm assuming you weren't wide open.

Hey there, that's because there are a few clips in this video that are the Sony 24-70 gm ii. The ones that are sharper are that lens.

Awesome post, very filmic! Is it possible you can make a second post in which you label which shots are the Remus and which are the Sony lens?

@@snap054 thank you! Absolutely. The golden hour and interviews is Remus and the non golden hour is Sony lens.

Nice audio. What did you use for narrative audio? A shotgun mic?

After wathcing so many videos of this lens recorded with open gate camera I can just tell the frame is so narrow. I see the top and bottom missing. Great looking video tho.
@CodyScott
@CodyScott 17 күн бұрын
@@adinbradic7092 I agree with you it is narrow, so it does challenge when I’m comfortable with. Maybe it’s our exposure to full frame that influences our perspective. I think I’m gonna try to find a full frame cinema lens that has the same characteristics of anamorphic . Any tips?

@@CodyScott Honestly, I dont think you can get anamorphic look with any spherical lens. it is just that effect of having 50mm distortion and looking lens with 35mm field of view. there are some great cinema spherical lenses like new Simera C lenses. they have their own character that is not necessarily wors, just not anamorphic. Open gate makes real difference with anamorphics so there is an option of switching cameras cuz sony wont put open gate in fx3 with an update even tho they probably could. but even this is really really nice, 95% of people wont notice what i did and it is only because I watched so many wideos of anamorphc lenses with various cameras. maybe you can try with 2.39:1 aspect ratio.
@CodyScott
@CodyScott 13 күн бұрын
@ This is very helpful. So if I use open gate I could get full frame anamorphic? Am I wrong here?
@adinbradic7092
@adinbradic7092 13 күн бұрын
@@CodyScott you already have full frame anamorphic but fx3 doesnt use whole sensor when recording video. it crops top and bottom to make it 9:16. so it cuts of part that would be visible if it would allow using full sensor (that is open gate), there are other cameras that allows you to use whole sensor (for example Lumix s5iix) so you can crop that open gate taller video in post to get 9:16, you can crop it to get better vertical content or in case of anamorphic it allows you to have more vertical resolution so you dont have to crop sides to get final aspect ratio. also it looks better.

What do you guys think about spherical vs anamorphic?
@SuperFilm2011
@SuperFilm2011 17 күн бұрын
Might be a dumb question bro, but with anamorphic glass do you have to keep people or the thing you're shooting near the middle of the frame most of the time? Usually when I see anamorphic the sides have that natural blur on the outsides. Great video as usual man.
