Cell phones do not zoom they pretend zoom. They just maginfy a section of thd picture. This camcorder has 27x optical zoom( real zoom) not bad at all

I think camcorders are good because they don't have that heavy grainy look that iPhone and Android has. Especially when you zoom in.

119 new at Wal Mart now. I paid 179 a year ago. I recommend getting the black one (199 when I bought mine.) It is the same except it has a greater zoom and more importantly an ability to use your cell phone to remote control it. You cannot remote control this one in any way, which I would sure like to be able to do. Nice big yard by the way!

Have had this camcorder for a few years now and have hardly used it I relied on my mobile for videos but you have inspired me with your video :) i will give it a go as mobile cameras seem to be a bit dodgy unless you spend a lot of money thank you :)

I just bought this last night.The only bad thing about this camera is that the speakers aren't loud when you play the video from the led display.Everything else is good.I bought mine for 55 dollars from Someone locally here in my city.They would rather use their phone to record their videos and take the pictures.At least i have a clear picture camera along with my digital camera incase one runs out of battery.The other camera comes in hand.Both cameras are Sony brand cameras.Panasonic cameras aren't that clear since the one i have right now is grainy and it gets boring.The audio on the display is loud.both the old one and this new one had been bough close enough to the same price.I'm going to wait for a good audio camcorder.This will help me out til i can find the right one.I just need to get use to this one.

the next camera you should consider upgrading to after the HX240 is the CX380, you can add bigger external batteries VF70 and VF100 and CX380 has an external mic jack that allows you to connect a clip on mic that you can clip to your shirt for better Vlogging audio

@@radiofrequencyscanninghist2776 I have Sony FDR AX-100 i am pretty satisfied with it , really great sound from internal mic, colors are accurate, input ports for mic etc, shoots 4k video at 25 fps and HD1080p at 50 fps. I also used AX-33 it was not so good specially in low light and that stabilizer just made videos look weird. I also had CX-560 pretty terrible camera and i hate how cheaper Sony models splits videos by 12min / 2GB at full HD 1080p. I also love VF70, VF100 batteries.

@@lakeithcrawford2803 no. you need to download the data. its easiest to put the video on the internal SD card and then put it in your PC and copy off it.

Yeah this is why we still have camcorders, cell phone and action cams are ok for up close but just about all their zooms IF NOT ALL are digital zoom, which just digitally blows up the picture. This has an actual optical zoom where the lens actually moves inside the camera. I think it's optical zoom to about 21X and the from there to the 54? X is digital zoom. We have many cameras with optical and digital zoom and we only ever would use the digital zoom to get way in on something you could not get close to some nice shaky sasquatch footage or other. otherwise we have digital zoom turned off always, and only use the optical zoom. The shaky picture while zooming can be stopped with mounting the camera, the more you zoom in while handheld the more it shakes no matter how hard you try to hold it still. . thanks for the footage test we might be getting one of these as an extra camera with a much needed optical zoom.

Hi, I was hoping to find information about if it has a pause button. I'm interested in a traditional video maker you know how the old vhs home movies you could pause or even stop the video and then start recording where you left off and it would all be in one video. If that makes any sense. Instead like now you record little moments that translate to little separate videos.

Camcorders are definitely worth it. And they're better for video than DSLR's depending on what you're looking for. In fact a lot of people prefer camcorders for making movies or just recording stuff like their vacation. They are very intuitive for moving around, and most of them have great stabilization for that purpose. The one in the video is pretty good but it's an entry level one, Sony and other brands make way more powerful camcorders

I saw this camera for sale locally from someone online.We have a Las Cruces buy and sell secton and man i saw it for 50 something dollars.This camera is very good.I think i saw this model at Bestbuy and it is good for being expensive.Since someone is not buying it right now.I might just schedule a meet up to buy it..The video quality from your end is very clear and not grainy.My current camcorder is panasonic.It is grainy and it is 3-400 pixel which means it doesn't have very good picture quality for videos.Thank you all for comment this guys video cause it makes me feel confident to buy this camcorder.I needed a new one since i don't use the other due to it being not that great.I might give it to my 13 year old niece so she can practice incase she wants to record her dog and other things around her.She's turning 14 in April so i want to give her something for her birthday.

I really like this camcorder a lot. My tripod fell, and then, I dropped it after that, so it is starting to have issues. I am looking for a replacement. The sound and video quality are really good. I like to shoot in 1080p 60fps. Some things I don't like, is you can not use it as a webcam. USB upload time is slow. Do you have a recommendations for an upgrade? I don't have a need for 4k. Would like to keep things under $300. Thank you.

I am a semi-pro filmaker (philsphilms) I have three of these and have been using them for years. Reliable, brilliant resolution, for best results use with a Manfrotto tripod, MKCOMPACTACN-BK. Lightweight, and can be used as a steadycam using the pistol grip! Enjoy!
