Sony MHC-EC909iP Shelf System Features & Review

I got mine 10 years ago refurbished from Sony outlet for $100. I still use it today. I don't have any needs for it other than jamming music, so it works great as a basic set for the price. I wish you could control the bass more, sometimes it's too much for in an apartment. but I was always satisfied with the quality.

Do it! I don't have a backyard but if you have an outlet there go for it! If you play any bass music loud, have something to hold the speakers down. They tend to "walk".

2023 and still have mine. Today i just connected a $1700 3way floor speaker bar on it to one of the speakers and sounds so loud 😂

The feel of the bass is a it hard to explain but I'll explain anyway... The FEEL comes around VOL 13 out of 30. As for the bass, it goes powerful in certain parts of my room. For example, standing in back of the subwoofer will result in major bass due to a room I have behind it. (I Repositioned my shelf system after this video) and the small kitchen area also has a loud bass to it. Check out other videos of this system to see how loud it is even from far away!

the main unit is called A/V receiver actually. but this system ain't a A/V receiver actually, it provides only audio that's why. the main unit also called amplifier.

Doubt it. The System that hooks up the speaker is different from this one that I have. On the mhc-ec709ip, The light is orange.

I have this unit....sounds decent. But the volume that comes out of it is crap. I bought it so I could play along w my drums and it sucks. I bought me an older receiver and works much better and sounds better

Hi, not sure if this question has been asked before but decided I will try anyways. So I just bought this at a garage sale and wanted to play music through the "PC" function off my computer. How would I go about doing this? Would any aux cable work? If not, can you specifically tell me what kind of AUX you need in order to play music from my laptop? Thanks so much for any help. Any AUX Cord will do. Assuming Male to Male is 3.5mm to 3.5mm, then it should work perfectly fine.

What do I do if it says protect I can’t get it off there and I can’t unplug it because it’s behind my son‘s bed and it’s got a dresser and shelf and I can’t move it

There is no reset for it, best to move it and unplug it, it's caused by touching wires and you blasting it to loud, the protect is used for preventing the speakers from blowing out.

540 watts is just marketing, this system is crap. You can't customize sound at all. Sounds dull and flat. Sub is weak and boomy. My 12 year old sony at 240 watts sounds better and more features.
